Sabo is important to the raven for obvious reasons. They're brothers and despite the blond having missed out on a lot of Luffy's teenage years, he sill loves him just as much. Originally it was Sabo who had started teaching the 7-year-old the basics of reading and writing and mathematics, having learned them from his Nobel classes. A word to describe him would be teacher.
Zoro is his unofficial first mate and the first person to join his crew. They think on the same wave link and offend can read each other's minds because of it. They are complete opposites and because of that, offend work well together in both battle and bonding. Zoro is someone he can always count on to tell him what he needs to hear, no matter how hard.
Sanji's the cook, he gives Luffy the food but that's not nearly his only reason for thinking the chef is so important. He's a man who Luffy can relate to because of the romance. Not as if relationships or girls but how both males tend to romanticize things. The passion Sanji has when he talks about the All Blue is the same passion his captain has upon talking about his own dream, that same look of wonder in their eyes gives them a bond no one can break. Even if Sanji isn't the nicest to him most the time.

Defiantly. Luffy adores nature and exploring it and all the treasures it hides. He's not good being trapped inside a place for too long, like a wild animal he needs to feel free. He enjoys sunlight and outside he doesn't need to control his excitement as much where as if he were inside he might have knocked something over, breaking it and gotten yelled at or his meat taken away.

Optimist, no doubt. Maybe even a little too optimist at times. It's one of his biggest weaknesses as well as strong points.
