This piece was composed as a free request/gift from my announcement on February 9th 2019 on Twitter. It is supposed to be played during a video game boss fight against two characters at once.
Working on this track was quite interesting. I was asked to keep it light hearted and fast paced. It should create a "let's fight"-feeling and I was asked to put emphasis on the trumpets. To represent the two characters, I decided to make it sound like a "musical dialogue" between the piano and trumpets at certain parts by making them play one after the other; like "answering" each other. When I thought of coming up with something that sounds energetic and/or crazy, I immediately thought of high pitched notes for the trumpets and fast piano notes to create a hectic and excited atmosphere. Compared to older compositions I made, this uses more changes in chords and melody but focuses on two instruments for the main melody in order to maintain a familiar touch for the listener. Interestingly, I was also asked to put a motif from one of my older pieces into this track; I decided to modify it a bit so it doesn't simply "copy" it and maybe creates a more original feeling.
