First I'll talk about her mom, they've always had a complicated relationship due to two factors Ramona's temperament and Beryl's unresolved trauma during the night of bergen attack and circumstances leading to her being a new mom. Heartbroken by a wayward fling, the loss of her support network from her family on the other side of the rubble caused her to have not so healthy attachment to Cherrie. Beryl also wasn't necessarily ready to be a new mother so Cherrie kinda views her mom like a stern older sister rather than a real mom. As I mentioned before Cherrie was a difficult child but not like evil ofc she just needed more attention and mature guidance that her mother wasn't really equipped to handle. In a way Beryl saw herself in Cherrie and that wild shortsighted thinking caused her so much grief in her mind, she believed she was helping to prepare her kid for the real world and also to scold her younger self but well.... yeah it wasn't good in short yeah it wasn't good. but things started to get better with time and distance away and long talks many tears were shed. Now Cherrie can say in the past year she feels like she can truly talk to her.

Now her sibling Skidd she completely found by accident when fishing in one of the golf moats, to this day you cant get that lure out... This two siblings are inseparable in this small world Cherrie felt like finally someone freakin gets me. Theres a little rough spot bc well Cherrie noticed Beryl could actually learn from her mistakes and be a competent mother to some degree towards Skidd but she wished she also got that mom but she was able to unpack that and apologized to Skidd bc it's not their fault.
