It was hard to contain the excitement that bubbled beneath the surface. He was sure that, at any moment, it would break through the barriers and explode out of his mouth, and he’d end up making a fool of himself in front of the person he arguably admired the most in the world. He suspected his jaw would ache later from how hard he was gritting his teeth together in an attempt to remain calm and composed.

His fingers twitched subtly at his sides, his eyes taking in the workshop around him. It was far grander than his own, but of course that was to be expected. He was still learning - this was the workshop of a master. And as much as he’d loved to touch and explore, he wouldn’t dare. Not unless given express permission - and even then he’d hesitate in case his lesser hands would taint the masterpieces in progress all around him.

i... honestly think he'd kill z.etsu. i mean he wants to be the one in control so getting rid of aloe vera would go a long way towards having complete control over his 'perfect world'

and tbh i just don't think he sees o.bito as that much of a threat. o.bito is just a pawn in his game so he's not... even really worth killing, i guess ???

he  became  accustomed  to  feeling  like  a  fool.    the  ONE  ally  he  had,  the  ONE  person  who  encouraged  him  to  stay  by  lee’s  side.   it  struck  him  like  lightning,  unfortunately  once  the  dam  is  broken  the  violent  stream  of  water  couldn’t  be  held  back    &&    as  such  realization  came  after  realization,  everything  began  to  make  so  much  sense.

why  masato  seemed  to  comment  on  lee’s  obedience  so  much,  why  he  talked  so  dismissively  of  his  own  children    &&    why  gai  never  met  them.      WHY  LEE  SEEMED  SO  SCARED  OF  THIS  MAN.      his  son  claimed  to  have  seen  glimpses  of  what  the  nibi  called  his  heart,  the  few,  timeworn  books  he  found  about  the  bijuus  in  konoha’s  library  confirmed  lee’s  claim.      (      though  nothing  lay  further  from  gai  than  not  believing  his  son      )

it’s  in  the  way  lee’s  hands  begin  to  shake,  knuckles  whitening  as  his  fist  clenches  tightly.   it’s  either  that  or  every  candle  in  the  room  briefly  flaring  up  in  a  ghostly  blue               &&    lee  prefers  the  option  obsured  by  his  pale  cloak.        ❝    WE  HAD  OUR  ‘  I’LL  SEE  YOU  SOON  ’  HUG  ALREADY.    ❞        lee’s  voice  is  decievingly  calm,  a  guise  for  his  earnest  emotion.     fear    &&    rage,  was  he  brought  here  by  danzo  to  threaten  the  jinchuriki  once  again.     OR  has  gai  come  to  pointlessly  bargain  once  more.      he  told  his  father  not  to      how  often  will  he  have  to  tell  gai  to  STAY  AWAY.    lee  knows  the  threats  of  killing  gai  are  empty,  with  the  taijutsu  master  gone  there’s  nothing  preventing  lee  from  releasing  matatabi  or  the  gate  of  death         most  likely  both         onto  the  root.     all  threats  are  empty.    .    .           UNTIL  THEY’RE  NOT.
