time’s up. -> @heartgriefed - @fivefates
“You think that’s gonna be enough to deal with me?” Yomiel sneers. He can’t feel the blade buried in his chest, but he seizes the Shade responsible for this wound with one hand and cuts right to the heart of the matter -- and to the creature’s own, with his stolen knife. It’s been mostly these bastards that he’s been dealing with.
But until now, he hasn’t seen the man garbed in a green coat and blue-and-white stripes; Yomiel barely has enough time to register the prisoner’s outfit before his shell is slammed to the ground and he gets an eyeful of Detective Jowd, already reaching to pluck the knife from him only to stab it right next to Temsik, where his heart should be.
“No!” Yomiel barks, a sudden fury and desperation overcoming him. No, no, no! How did he know?! He can’t lose this fucking thing, especially in this city with people dying all around him! “You can’t have th--”
“You stole from me,” growls the detective, baring proverbial fangs at last. A far cry from the inmate he’d been spying on, who had been so guilt-ridden that he welcomed death. “You stole Alma’s life, Kamila’s peace of mind and innocence, and robbed me of my freedom, so now I’m taking something from you. It’ll help NULL with finally getting rid of you.”
“Bastard!” The spook surges up, putting all of his physical strength into standing. Another powerful punch staggers his balance and the knife remains, blood starting to hesitantly stain his suit. There’s a desperate, animalistic snarl as Yomiel rips it from his chest and races at the man, eyes blazing blue and his shades momentarily forgotten.
He pays no mind to any witnesses as he returns Jowd’s gesture in kind, slicing into him before the man can react properly. And he doesn’t stop at one, he just keeps going...

Exhausted from these new surroundings, Cheryl tried to find some calmness in a nearby coffee shop. As it turned out, there weren’t any immediate threats in the city- she didn’t have very much to worry about. Well, other than getting back home. Her dad may be gone, but Douglas still needs somebody.
Ah... There wasn’t much use in stress. As she tried to push those thoughts out of her mind, she ended up falling asleep in the cafe.
... It wasn’t until she felt an employee touch her shoulder that she jolted up- nearly elbowing the girl in the stomach as she frantically tried to remember her surroundings.
“Sorry...” She sighed. “... I’ve just been having these really crazy dreams lately.”
At least, they didn’t seem like premonitions anymore. Silent Hill was no longer trying to call out to her.
“Hah... At least they’re just nightmares, right? ... Sorry.”
YOU DON’T ASK A GIRL TO SHOW HER HEART UNLESS YOU’RE FLIRTING OR DOING AN AUTOPSY. I CAN’T HELP WITH EITHER OF THAT, BY THE WAY.

@fivefates liked for a starter. this action will have consequences...
the last day of chloe’s life had been jarring, to say the least. imagine being right in death’s clutches one moment, and then ripped away from the worry the next. no max, no arcadia bay, no storm... where was she? was this a byproduct of max fucking with the fabric of time, or was this the afterlife? whatever it was, it was driving her crazy. she’d been wracking her brain all night (after the three hour long breakdown) trying to figure out why she was in this weird fantasy-like city. she’d gotten no sleep, and she was very mad that whatever the hell had brought her here had taken her dime bag. at least when she was medicated she could sleep anywhere, but without her dear friend mary jane she was at a loss. she was not sleeping a wink until she got her fix, or until she made peace with the situation at hand. neither would happen anytime soon, she knew. which was exactly why she was outside of her big, lonely townhouse. if she couldn’t escape her problems, she’d get answers; and since she was at a loss, she’d ask someone else. someone who didn’t look like they were on their way back to the hotel after a late night anime con. there were a few candidates, but they all seemed to be moving too fast for her to even think about stopping. frustrated and tired of being ignored by passerbys, chloe rose her voice and chose to chase someone down. she would make someone pay attention to her, even if it was probably a mistake. what was the worst that could happen? she did have a gun in the waistline of her pants. ❝ Excuse me? Hello? ❞ chloe took a step forward, stopping in-front of the red-head. although chloe tried to seem somewhat friendly, the zero sleep, adrenaline buzz, and her inability to hide her emotions really just made her come off as aggravated. luckily, she caught on for once, softening her brow and trying to even her tone. ❝ Uh, shit-- I didn’t mean to-- sorry, can you help me? ❞

The entirety of Cotes has been bizarrely reformatted, seemingly overnight, as yet another reminder that the citizens have no control here. And yet, despite all that’s been overwritten, Barry can’t help but marvel at the new parts of the ward. In fact, the library feels almost like a personal bribe not to think about how odd this is.
It isn’t long before he’s practically buried in the place, an array of magical texts open across the small table he’s at, notebooks and papers filling the rest of the space. It looks like an absolute mess, but he seems to understand it, going nonstop back-and-forth between reading and scribbling notes and diagrams.
He’s so zoned in to this endeavor that it takes him some time to notice a young woman looking at him--or perhaps no time at all? He isn’t sure. He hasn’t noticed anything outside of this desk for probably an hour or more.
“Ah--hey, sorry, I’m sure this looks like the workings of a madman,” he says amiably. “It’s really just a--a bunch of nerd shit about magic, though.”

“Skates all tied this time?” It’s said with a playful nudge and a wink as Carmen laces up her own skates. She’d gone for the light-up ones, of course-- that’s just the right amount of flashy to fit in with her style.
“Seriously though, this reminds me a lot of the place we first met.” She extends a hand to help Lynne to her feet, much the way she did when they were on their first skating rink together.
“If you’re feeling off-balance, you’re still welcome to hold my hand.”

There’s much to be checked out in these new surroundings of hers but... But checking out the interesting sights can wait for a bit, she thinks. She’s got to get herself established first- and the nice looking cafe near her new home is just super enticing!
Yes, she’ll get a drink and maybe a treat or two from there, and then investigating can begin.
She steps inside, eyes shining at the atmosphere of the cafe and the enticing treats up for display. Good to know this city has a perfectly normal cafe... And with such a delightful atmosphere too! If the rest of the city is like this, then, captivity aside, she just might like it here.
She turns her attention to the pressing matter at hand- the sweets counter. “Hmm... It all looks so good... How can I possibly choose?”
