The good thing about using a trial cloth when fitting a more complex body type is that it allows for slit-and-split when necessary. . This client has a pretty hunched back, so more cloth is required in the length of the back. Splitting the cloth right across allows us to see the exact amount that’s required. Without doing so, we can only speculate “well, that looks like it needs another extra inch”. Needless to say, it’s probably not a wise idea to do this on the actual cloth. .
