The Nature Conservancy folks posted on their LinkedIn today about this free-access Fishkit app they created. Though the video above was posted a year ago, I had not seen an app that had so many tools in one place for small-scale fisheries to use. The app includes a stock health tracker, a size limit builder, a bag limit builder, a temporary closures tool, spatial management guidance, and a data repository. Fools puddles | short story part one
The water slipped above his head, the mud choking him and dragging his fur down.Â
He struggled to stay afloat, and desperately yowled for help before diving back into the suffocating mud.Â
FleaThistle couldn’t lose his child.Â
His claws searched wildly for anything in the water, scraping against rocks and tearing at the nails.Â
He felt something, finally, and sank his claws into the soft flesh. He pulled up, grasping the kit in his mouth as he struggled out of the water, every step a gamble on wether the mud would drag him back into the cold embrace.Â
FleaThistle swayed on his paws, the limp kit grasped in his mouth, and his head grew dizzy. No, no, he couldn’t pass out before he helped the kit..Â
He couldn’t.Â
Pain flashed through his shoulder.Â
