Back to the thought of cleaning though, it appears as if they need to do that themselves. They have dirt on their clothes and a smudge on their cheek, as well as leaves stuck in their hair that they didn’t seem to notice. Somehow, despite the filth, they practically seemed to glow with how happy they were. Slowly pushing himself up to be sitting up, he watched them come over with a smile to greet him. “Sorry if I woke you, Waylon.” 

Shaking his head with a grunt, he was still mostly focused on their hair. Should he try to take the leaves out for them? Just tell them and let them deal with it? See how long it takes for them to notice? As tempting as the last option is, something should probably be done about it. They can be particular about things like that. He doesn’t feel up to talking right now though, leaving the option of him removing the debris himself, which he’s hesitant to do. His claws could easily break through their fragile skin and hurt them. That’s the last thing he wants. 

Coming out of his train of thought for a moment he realized they were talking about what they had done with Ivy. He didn’t understand all of it, not too familiar with plants, but he at least tried. However after only a few minutes, his frustration with their hair got the better of him. Once they were within reach, he reached over and carefully tugged them over, digits carefully curled around their body while letting them still move of their own accord. It got them to be quiet at least, as they looked up at him to see what he was doing. 

“Waylon?”

He didn’t respond, finding his eyebrows knitting together as he hunched over further, slowly reaching up towards their head. He didn’t miss how they drew their shoulders up slightly, clearly tense and confused. He wouldn’t hurt them. With a gentleness they clearly didn’t expect, he slowly used the tips of his claws to free the leaves from their hair, dropping them off to the side so they won’t get caught again. 

Once they saw the first leaf fall from between his claws, they understood what he was doing and relaxed. They even shut their eyes because as much as they enjoyed his focused expression, having his claws running through their hair so carefully, staying just above their scalp so he doesn’t cut them, it was a wonderful feeling. Very soothing, draining any tension from their body for the time being.
