Another photo from the beach/swimwear shoot ☺️ And planning for another one with @nzstreetrides_models soon! Have to say, doing judo as a kid has really impacted how I feel about my body. Being in such a weight-oriented sport for tournaments always made me feel awful about my weight. I always struggled to stay within one weight category, and was always nearly over the weight all the time, going up to the next category all the time. All the other girls in my dojo were so much skinnier, and had better results in competitions too. I felt so bad about myself for years. Starting it up again took a lot of courage, but I’m glad I have, because it’s led me to be more accepting of how my body is, and what it will never be. I love the flexibility and strength judo has given me, as well as my respect for coaches, fellow judoka and dojo family members, and my own parents, family, and friends, who supported me for years. #bodyconfident #firsttimemodel #piha #judogirlsrock (at Piha Beach) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqo6kgpgiP1/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1666hrybarg8t
