Did you know that 95% of women and men living in Permanent Supportive Housing and receiving services through Lamp remain housed for one year or more? Lamp’s housing retention rate has increased by 10% in the last three years, and is among the highest in the nation.
We serve more than 350 clients through Permanent Supportive Housing, and we are growing our capacity to serve clients who are senior or living with advanced stages of chronic disease including cancer and HIV/AIDS.
Lamp follows a “housing first” model: Only when an individual is no longer homeless can she or he take step to achieve goals and become self-sufficient.
Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) is a combination of affordable housing and intensive support services. Affordable housing moves women and men off of the streets and intensive services help them maintain their housing.
Lamp has no pre-qualifications for an individual to secure housing: not sobriety, income or religious participation. Lamp works with all persons regardless of such common barriers to housing including disability, HIV/AIDS status, gender or transgender status, age, race, family status, or income. The simple goal is to end homelessness by providing a home, and offering services to ensure they remain there permanently.
Permanent Supportive Housing is the proven solution for chronically homeless adults. Lamp’s comprehensive programs and services ensure 95% of clients remain housed for a year or more.

Lamp Community holds the key to ending homelessness for women and men who have nowhere else to turn. At Lamp, it is unacceptable to give up on clients, to close a door, or to turn anyone away.
Please join us in our efforts to end homelessness in Los Angeles. With your financial support and volunteerism, Lamp can expand to be even more responsive to the needs of those with substantial barriers to services and housing and reach more people, growing the safety net of community that Lamp has built.
