[moRE WHITE TEARS]
I LOVE THIS KINDLY STRANGER AS WELL
◆
send me a “◆” if you like rping with me or want to someday.
I'd love to, darling, but I really know nothing about Divergent. Guess I'll have another book series to read, huh? But if you can maybe explain some stuff to me along the way or keep it simple, we could???
J U M P ;; —— fight without fear verse
[He was lurking around, a nervous habit he developed after the switch to Dauntless. He couldn't help it, this place was so much different from home.
Better, really, but different.
He padded around the pit, the dark and empty storefronts an eerie comfort. His light footsteps echoed across the walls of the cavern, but they couldn't be heard over the sound of the chasm, a deafening roar.
Funny, how even in moments of silence the place where Dauntless reside remains impossibly loud.
-- just like the Dauntless themselves. The way they carry themselves i just loud.
He couldn't love it more.
As he wandered, cloaked by a tangible static noise, he heard something else. Some sort of struggle ---- and halfway scream, muffled.
He picked up his pace, moving towards the noise, and he saw it.
An a t t a c k .
A flash of blonde hair, flailing limbs, masked men. Tris Prior.
The men attacking her were sneering, taunting at her and touching her chest. He heard himself yelling before he realized he was doing it.]
HEY! What kind of Dauntless are you? Attacking a girl half your size? Jumping her when she's not looking? What the hell?
[He ran in their direction, feeling his fist make contact with something hard -- probably a jaw. In that moment, his training was kicking in.
He won fights consistently for a reason, and it wasn't long before the sound of fists hitting flesh ceased. The men ran, like the cowards they were, and he was left alone with her.]
❝Are you okay?❞
[He offered a hand to her, the least he could do. As his hand outstretched before him, he saw the red of blood on his knuckles and a pool on one hand, and he didn't know whose it was.
---- it didn't matter.
He felt a dull ache, not sure where it began and not sure how serious it may be.]
so i assume the quote "I chose him over and over again and he chooses me" can be disproven then?

[Abnegation—gray clothes instead of black ones]
Apparently, miracles do happen. It wasn't until Tobias mentioned the Prior family's visit that his father stopped, thus sparing him the beating, especially on his face. But he mentioned it a little too late and he was sure the bruise on his jaw would show; and his father was well aware of that.
Usually, Tobias would stay in his room every time visitors came over, but since the Prior children, Caleb and Beatrice, would be coming over this time, Marcus decided it'd only be respectful if Tobias ate with them that time--keeping him locked up in his room would surely arouse some suspicions. But the Abnegation boy hoped this would be his chance to reveal his father's cruelty, proof being the fresh bruise on his face. His plans were nearly ruined though, when Marcus told him to eat in the farthest end of the table so that the bruise wouldn't show from the angle that the Priors would be at.
Now, Tobias was sitting at the edge of his bed, rubbing his jaw as many thoughts went through his mind. This would be the second time the entire Prior family would come over; the first he'd barely remembered maybe because he was still young and the visit went by too quickly. But this time, he hoped it would take longer. And he hoped that one of the Prior children would notice the bruise on his jaw and point it out; but then Marcus would have him cover it up with a lie, only to make it worse later on once the family left for disobeying him. Sometimes miracles don't happen.
Tobias closed his eyes and let out a heavy sigh, mouthing a small prayer that was interrupted when he heard the door open downstairs. Rubbing his jaw one more time, he left his room and made his way down the stairs and to the front door to greet the Priors along with his father.
