In light of recent events such as the @hm “monkey” sweater and @realdonaldtrump referring to Haiti and other countries as “shithole countries”, I’m going to drop this here. As sad and alarming as these statements/events may be, I’m usually not surprised by them. In a country who’s “freedom and justice for all...” was based and built on the systematic racism and marginalization of several various groups, it make sense why #45 and others like him continues to make such remarks and think in such a way. To those of you who keep making excuses for YOUR president, you are part of the problem. This isn’t simply about politics and race (for you simple minded individuals), but rather a HUMANE issue. Regardless of how anyone or how anything tries to oppress me, I will always rise above. Proud immigrant, Proud of my heritage, Proud of everything. If this post bothers you, dig deep and filter the hatred w/in your soul beloved. Peace, love, and happiness to all. #haiti #1804 #firstfreeblackrepublic #notmypresident #proudhaitian #resilience 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹 📷 and edits by @jessifer902 📸 (at Haiti)
