For those who weren’t able to come down to Houston, here’s a video of some of the pits on the way to the Archimedes field.
Welcome to the Pits!
Typically running on 4 hrs of sleep.
Do not expect coherency.
Do expect pins.
And zip ties.
Lots of zip ties…
I’m a member of the FRC team Mojo 8085’s pit crew.
We finished our run at the 2023 Worlds as Archimedes Division Champion.
Exhausted from comps, school, and other extracurriculars, but will be posting some off-season and build season meeting until the comps start.
Also preparing for off-season events around New England.
2023 was my first year doing FIRST, so this will be a mix of discoveries and experiences, along with expectations for the coming season.
And just plain chaos. Let the chaos rain.

Oh, and btw:
I am a member of 8085.
I will be posting about 8085.
Almost all of the members are aware of this blog.
However, this is NOT an official Mojo 8085 social media account. This is something I started up at a competition for fun and to reach out to other FRC kids.

So my FRC team does this thing where at the end of the season we write on sticky notes the good things and bad things about the season and someone literally wrote “The first steamworks song” as bAD AND IM DYING THEY PLAYED THAT EVERY HOUR AT EVERY COMPETITION WE WENT TO
Pit Crew: We are going to walk around for a minute to get buttons while the robot is queuing. Scout Team, can you text us if anyone tries to put scout us while we are gone? We all are in the same group chat plus there’s slack. Just find us if anyone comes by. Ok?
Scout Team: Sure. Totally. See you.
~~~~~Five Minutes Later~~~~~
*Pit Crew walks back*
Scout Team: WHERE WERE YOU GUYS? There were at least three teams that came by pit scouting. You know we don’t know the dimensions and stuff! Where did you go???
Pit Crew sharing a glance: Uh, to get buttons like we told you. And you should have texted us, like we said. We are in the same group chat.
Scout Team: What are you talking about. You didn’t say anything and you were just gone! And we don’t have you numbers.
Pit Crew: There is a student group chat. And we all use Slack.
My phone number and email are in my Slack profile.
Scout Team: you told us to text?
Pit Crew: 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♂️ Yes…
Ok, so apparently there’s some possibility that Taylor Swift is going to Worlds and I wanted proof so I researched. Apparently her tour is in Houston on the 21st and 22nd. Also, the director of the FRC Championship posted something 4 days ago that drops some not so subtle references to her. Idk… What do you think?
Over the last six weeks, more than 3300 FIRST® Robotics Competition teams have competed in more than 15,000 matches across more than 160 eve
