After some casual flirting from Morrow and some empty violence threats from Jemma, their usual bantering since he had apparently quickly realized she found it funny, she had been in a good mood, or a better mood at least, until Burrows had showed up for Mace to casually inform her that while she was supervising the lab work - from afar - only Fitz should meet the investors, because she was too much of a wild card. She could freak out without warning and it was too risky to have her represent anything. And Jemma had shrugged, pretending she didn't care at all, but she had lost all interest in, well, everything, her expression falling as soon as he was gone. She went to sit in the Zephyr's cargo hold, not feeling like talking anymore and letting her hair down to roll and unroll locks of them; she had barely paid attention to Morrow joining her, not sure of what he wanted, but glanced in his direction for a moment when he brushed another lock, not stopping him. He must have seen Fitz calm her down that way, it was like an off button, especially since her return from Maveth. He started brushing her hair more and her fingers faltered, until she closed her eyes and leaned against his shoulder, just letting the soothing touches melt the ball of shame and anger that was making hard to breathe.
