Hot Take:
First Kill needs a thembo/himbo/herbo.
The deep symbolism and complex storytelling tools that First Kill writers are using are going over waaaay too many peoples’ heads (including myself sometimes). We need a character to act as the Shakespearean “Fool” that will (1) add comedy beats that explain what just happened to people in either an-almost-soliloquy or by asking “stupid” questions (2) in a way that seems non-threatening and not condescending to the audience but that HELPS US FUCKING GET IT.
Also — in the spirit of Anne-Marie MacDonald — adding a fool typically alters the trajectory of a Tragedy to a Comedy (i.e. ending in death transformed into ending in a wedding)
