#first boss

I realize I’ve barely talked about work this last week. The truth is I’ve barely worked. With all the reporters and job offers and fuss, what calls I’ve gone on seem to have passed in a blur.  

It’s all “First-Boss-Blaze”, or FBB, a term I learned from one of my old bounty hunting mentors. She told me that because of the nature of the multiverse there are a lot more legendary, world-ending monsters than most people realize, and tons of adventurers get a chance to stop one. Afterwards there’s a lot of fuss, but the real, high-end adventuring guilds will look at the adventurers' careers to see what kind of skills they really possess.

Not that stopping a world-ending threat is anything to sneeze at, but the fuss usually dies down the next time a kaiju or a mad-god threatens the material plane and some other adventurers stop it. She told me not to give up family, friends, or a steady gig just because everyone else is buying into the FBB. 

But damn, the moment in the spotlight feels good.

Inktober, day one: First Boss.

In retrospect it wasn’t that hard, but it took an age until I figured out the movement set without having to dodge flailing balls of doom every other few seconds.
