(As a side note, 100% Dragon Install uses Sol’s default sword model underneath the huge sword of flame he wields in that form.)

The “Original Junkyard Dog” was Sol’s fang-shaped  "concrete slab blade" that he put together during his self-subsistence days working in the Sacred Order.  It was more or less the “inspiration” for later designs.

Around 2186, Sol made two consecutive “upgrades” to the Firesealed Sword:

The latter upgrade eventually became known as the Junkyard Dog Mark 2, although powerful, it lacked output or energy control.

After raiding Harden Fortress, Sol obtained the Flashing Fang and used it to increase the Mark 2’s power output based on the functions of Saint Oratorio.  This became the Mark 3.

The Mark 3’s power output can be Multiplied 5 times it’s initial power.  Capable of smashing a Mountain.

Ky managed to dismantle the Mark 3, so Sol might have to reconsider it’s design later.

Sol has fired off shots with the Junkyard Dog (that’s the upgraded Fireseal by the way) that are strong enough to smash a Mountain.  He also used it to kick-start the Saint Oratorio spell so it would effectively reboot Justice so that Jack-O’ could complete the merge with her.

The Junkyard Dog Mk 3 likely doesn’t have much directly to do with Dragon Install.

Although the sword transforms in that state in a kind of ‘casing purge’, it isn’t really tapping in to Sol’s powers, but amplifying them, like most OutRage.

As for other spells, Sol has used a Float Spell, a “Crimson Jacket” enhancement, and he uses a Summoning technique called “Soul Sinker” that Izuna taught him.  Magic Com phones are also a common spell, as is Zeal used in Mana Engines like in Sol’s Firewheel, which he summons.

That was just a temporary design that Sol used when not using the Firesealed Sword.

Well, it seemed to work in tandem with Sol’s Dragon Install in GG2, so, perhaps both are possible.

Based on what we currently know about the sequence of events:

—-Kliff Undersn was planning on giving the Firesealed Sword to Sol anyway.

—-Typically the Sacred Order hands relics and powerful swords to their knights as a “gift” whenever their rank is promoted, if they are so deserving.

—-Sol was unable to defeat Justice without the Firesealed Sword (as told in Accent Core Plus’s storyline), hence why he decided to steal it.

—-In the original timeline, Dizzy seeks revenge on Sol for killing her mother, Justice… this implies that Sol did the deed obviously, but in order to have done so, he most likely obtained the Firesealed Sword to beat Justice in the first place.

Sol’s trademark “Volcanic Viper” against Dizzy should be ample enough indication that he has improved his fighting style during those years (with or without Ky).

So that should explain it, I believe.  When Ky was killed, Kliff most likely passed the rank of Commander to Sol, and with it the Firesealed Sword, which Sol would ultimately use to take down Justice… thus triggering future events and the war progressing further with Dizzy.

Of course… that’s not what actually happened once I-No changed the timeline.

Ky’s life was saved, Sol helped him retreat, then later Sol fought Justice without the Fireseal, lost, and got frustrated.  He decides to steal the sword, Kliff pursues him and tests him (giving him the sword in secret).  Kliff then gives the rank of Commander to Ky Kiske and gives him the Thundersealed Sword (which, as you know plays a pivotal role in Dizzy’s fate in future events) and Ky and Kliff confront a weakened Justice (having been beaten by Sol) and seal her away.

Just the mere fact that Ky survived that war… as well as Dizzy… is the reason someone like Sin can even exist while travelling with Sol as wandering bounty hunters.
