Opinion on;

Character in general:  Gosh, Estelle I've talked about Estelle before. I remember not knowing where to begin, and now I'm feeling a strange sense of deja vu........

Anyway, I instantly fell inlove with Estelle with her first appearance. Especially when she was about to smack Yuri at the back of his head with a freaking vase (i swear estelle you could kill a person with that. or at least give him a concussion. ugh, decorum pls) --but yeah, later I learned that she liked reading books about fantasy and adventure, enjoys romance and meaningful friendships, and likens her ideal guy to a fictional character. Sound familiar, anybody?

Estelle is like, a representation of geeks like us everywhere lmao.

But that's not all. She is kind as much as she is brave, bearing a power that can help people and uses it in the rightest way possible. A little bit of naivete is unavoidable considering her upbringing, but she easily gets over that and opens her eyes to the world before her. It's full of pain, suffering, full of things the empire has hidden from her. It's full of wonderful people who don't get what they most deserve, which is happiness. Estelle just wants to help, and that in itself is the strongest, most impressive trait you can find in a person.

How they play them:  Rachel was my very first Estelle and gosh, she's a good one, too! There's something about her Estelle's dialogue that just sounds right, and something about her actions that make you think, 'yes, that's exactly what Estelle would do.' She gets her so well, from the way she'd fiercely spread her arms before you in a protective manner and down to getting caught sneaking around (terribly, might I add.) She knows all about the nuances that constructs Estelle's character to her very core, the way she values Yuri and Flynn. The way she holds them both in high regard but acknowledges the differences between them. She plays Estelle in a way that says, 'yes, I may be a little naive, but I'm not stupid.'

When I throw random starters at her, involve her in my shenanigans, Rachel makes her Estelle open to all of those things. She has surprised me in the same way game Estelle has surprised me in skits, in her willingness to do the unexpected. The jealousy of bouncing, wanting to be pretty and strong and impressive. Rachel gets all of those and more. Through her, I learn all about Estelle and I can't count how many times I've been blown away by her portrayal. Gosh damn, I miss you, man.

She is hands down my favorite, my one and only Estelle. And if she's told me that she will always be my Estelle, I in turn, from the bottom of my heart, return the sentiment. I will always be her Yuri.

The Mun:  What a sweetheart. What an adorable person. The cutest. The absolutely perfect kawaii hime. When I was active in Skype and we were both online, we would sometimes end up gushing about yustelle, and she sends me links to cute pictures of our otp and then ugh i just end up screaming in my pillow. And when I'm on my personal, she acts as if it's necessary to tackleglomp me with icons of estelle tackleglomping yuri and ugh she's too adorable i can't take it.

I like talking to Rachel. She's funny and smart and an overall cutie. She's someone who tries her best and I'm always impressed by how hard she works, in life, at work, at a lot of other things. I will always be a step behind Rachel, and if she comes to me for support, I will be more than glad to provide it if I can.

The pink hair was the wrong pink hair! It did seem a bit off that it wasn't tied in twin ribbons. The person she nearly ran over to wasn't Madoka, and so she stood there a moment longer than necessary; red cheeks giving herself away and an impression that she could be saying something. Anything other than...

He’d made her smile, laugh, worry, frustrated, and sad—but he’d never once made her cry. At least, not when he was aware of it.

Maybe she teared up a bit when he wouldn’t call her potato soup “vichyssoise” though… Okay, he didn’t usually make her cry.

No one ever did so for him, anyway. He lost practically everything at an age where he could barely remember anything, so it had felt as though he hadn’t lost much.

Yet he could feel a crack form in his heart every time a tear fell down her cheek, and she was crying him a fountain. Part of him wanted to tell her to stop, but he knew how useless a feat that would be. Estelle cared too much to not feel anything and she was strong enough to let her emotions show, unlike him.

Of course he didn’t fail to notice her abrupt pause at the word “promise.” It was too fragile a word; too… uncertain. And he was thankful, for it was too heavy a word to carry on to his grave.

When their foreheads touched, he could feel himself smiling, though said smile slightly faltered when she had pleaded for him not to leave. He couldn’t promise anything anymore, but he could at least leave her with a memory.

All he had to do to reach her was slightly lift himself up, and his lips would touch hers.

She froze, in the same way she did when they had their first. It filled him with warmth and mostly feelings of nostalgia, along with the very desire he should have cast aside the moment he realized he was dying.

The desire to not leave.

He didn’t have that choice anymore, and if to live meant to choose, that meant he had to go.

Pulling away, he brushed his thumb against her cheek, wiping off the tears no matter how futile it was, and smiled.

"Here’s… to the road ahead."

She was standing right there, surrounded by flowers that couldn't hope to rival her simple, gentle beauty--and he was touching her despite being undeserving. That didn't matter to him anymore, for some reason. The walls he created specifically for this woman were cast aside, as if he suddenly didn't care for boundaries. He was allowing himself to touch her, for some reason. For some inexplicable reason that he couldn't quite decipher.

She was standing right there, smiling, eyes bright and slightly crinkled when her cheeks pulled upwards, and he just stood there, frozen in place but with his hand slowly pulling away.

The smile faded. He walked away.

No matter how greatly he cherished her, or how gently he handled her, it would never be enough to fill that certain hole in his heart. How far his hand could go depended on how willing he was to break the walls he built between them, and he didn't know if he could take that risk. She had stood there, doors opened wide and inviting him in, but deciding that he wasn't worthy, walked away.

His feet carried him towards an open field, where his sable eyes caught glimpse of a lone flower in the middle, its color akin to her hair. How he got there, or how she wasn't present when he looked back, he didn't know. It felt as though he hadn't walked that far; he expected her to still be there upon turning around, but that wasn't the case. Seeking solace in that flower, he bent down to tuck his fingers under its petals, foolishly thinking that it would suffice as a substitute.

But nothing could ever replace her.

The thought was an eye-opener. As if he had suddenly been woken from a strange dream. Yes, everything was actually a dream, wasn't it? It made sense now, because he wouldn't touch her like that in reality, no. Yuri Lowell knew he was still dreaming, so he didn't question the logic of suddenly opening his eyes to the view of the sky, where he realized he had been laying on his back on the grass and sheltered by the shade of a tree. She sat there, hovering above him, and he thought he wasn't about to make the same mistake of letting her go again.

So he reached out in a daze, looking straight into those teal eyes, and cupped her cheeks with the palm of his hand. He let a genuine smile show.

This is okay. It's just a dream.
