I don’t know how many there were in the mix, or how many generations back it comes from, but I guess the blood passed on. And it was really strong blood. My uh... “peculiar” eyes are just a giveaway of that.
In hindsight, I never made anything out of it back then, but I guess my dad had eyes like this too...

If you don’t fully understand it, what he’s implying is that there isn’t any known non-pony ancestor as far as he can track back (father, grandfather, great grandfather) so the “genetic mix” must have happened quite a long time ago. But the traits are strong enough to still be evident up to this generation.
Still plenty more to this whole deal, of course.
