I imagine they do this bc they don’t want to think the robots will turn on them, if there is a human pilot but even then, the mecha could just… override the controls and kick out the pilot.
i would love to just have a mecha anime/show/etc that starts off normal but like, halfway through the series the mech is just like “wait fuck this” and ejects the pilot
