happy valentine's day from space! 🪐💖

this is my (only) piece for @ockissweek as i don't have time to make anything else so naturally i had to put way too much time and energy into it 🙈

what if we were a plant-obsessed workaholic asexual nerd and a cynical bisexual spaceship pilot with secret plant powers and we were stuck together on a xenobotany expedition... and then,, and then we nfdjsdfkj we kissed... 😳🙈💋

look i tried my best but there’s only so much i can do when i only realize i can draw my ocs kissing at 11pm on valentine’s eve! in the meantime enjoy a quick FinnPetra kiss!!! 💕

decided to rework a slightly older FinnPetra drawing from the MR&F era to put them in their space outfits and got carried away with the dramatic lighting. enjoy!

i mean, i would definitely categorize their relationship as romantic, and they do the hand-holding-kissing-staring-lovingly-into-each-other's-eyes thing, but i also feel like they have the kind of relationship where, if you didn't know them, you'd assume they're just really good friends who are secretly in love with each other but are too scared to tell each other, and then when you pull each of them aside and go "have you ever considered you two as a couple?" they'll look at you funny and go "we've been dating for two years". like neither of them are big fans of PDA or the stereotypical Grand Romantic Gestures. they mostly show their love in little subtle ways.

their dynamic is he brings her back to earth when she's stressing herself out, she calls him out on his bullshit when he needs it, he looks out for her and makes sure she sleeps and eats when she tends to neglect to, she kept his Dark Secret and didn't ask for too much in return, he lets her ramble about plants without mocking her, she makes him feel safe and like he doesn't have to keep his guard up, they drive each other crazy, they help each other become better, they make me insane.
