Labyrinth meditation.... Labyrinth walking was practiced in ancient Crete, Egypt, Peru, India and Ireland. You walk meditatively along a path that cuts back and forth through a series of curves or spirals until you arrive in the center. If you check a search engine on the Web, you can locate labyrinths worldwide. Many churches and retreat centers have permanent labyrinths on their property that are open to the public. Walking a labyrinth helps you connect your right and left brain, which encourages creative thought and problem solving. As you walk the winding path towards the center of the labyrinth, you may gain more insight into your life or a problem you are trying to resolve. WHEN? whenever you want to understand yourself better or get to the hart of any issues...practice labyrinth walking PREPARATION Locate a labyrinth near you. If you can't find one, you can meditate by tracing your finger on a printed labyrinth. 1. Stand at the entrance of the labyrinth and focus on a problem or concern. For example, you may have a decision to make about a new job... 2. As you enter the labyrinth and begin walking, explore what you think about the problem. As you get deeper into the labyrinth, switch your meditation to what you FEEL about the problem. What emotions arise? 3. Continue towards the center asking how this problem affects your material world, your finances or your health. Then ask how this problem affects your spiritual life. 4. When you arrive at the center, ask your higher power for assistance in solving your problem. Stand silently and see what emerges. Accept it without judgement. If nothing comes to mind, be patient. An answer may come to you some days later. 5. On your walk back out of the labyrinth, meditate on any solution that emerged. If non emerged, concentrate on placing one foot in front of the other. Slightly altered... My morning tea is 1t each turmeric, ginger and cinnamon, so I added the other two as well to make my #morningcup easier, faster, and have the nutrients bioavailable. 1/4 c ea spice, 2 t black pepper (unlocks the nutrients in turmeric), 1.5 c water heated until thick, add 1/3 c coconut oil (unlocks nutrients) and store in refrigerator up to 2weeks. Use t-T portions in warm milk (traditional) or hot water. Though I have this as my coffee replacer with maple syrup in the morning, we also love it as a comforting wind-down before bed with honey. Turmeric (and Ginger/cinnamon for that matter) is awesome for many things, but can also aggravate other conditions.
