Happy (Find Your Fade) Friday! Today I’m going to talk about something no one likes to talk about: making mistakes! So last week when I was working on this, I realized I was running out of room on the knitting cable as the shawl increased. I switched it to a longer cable, and continued knitting. But as I was knitting, I realized I had dropped a stitch when switching to a longer cable! I tried and tried to fix it, but it seemed to only make the problem worse. Finally, after doing some research, I was able to correct the mistake, but I was convinced that the shawl was ruined. The area where I fixed it was puckered and the whole thing had to be restarted. I was very upset. But then I remembered that the reason I chose this project at all was to learn new techniques. If it’s something I’ve never done before, I’m bound to make mistakes. So fixing the dropped stitch, even if I could have fixed it better, is still a learning experience! And that’s not worst scrapping the whole project for! None of us like to make mistakes, but they will happen. It’s best to get comfortable with that idea, so you’re able to learn something from the experience when you inevitably do something imperfect. Because that’s life! And there’s beauty in imperfection too ☺️ • • • #polarpurls #findyourfadeshawl #findyourfadefriday #knitstagram #shawlknitting #knittersgonnaknit #makersgonnamake #makerlife #makersofinstagram #crochetersofinstagram #handdyed #handdyedyarn #indiedyer
