hey Iām DMing a campaign rn set in the Wild West and the big baddie is a gang of vampires. youāre a writer, so I was wondering if you had any headcannons/suggestions/ideas on vampire outlaws?
When I first read this I was like,Ā āoh yeah, I do write thingsā but anywhoā
Wild west vampires, eh? Sounds dope af. Hereās what iām thinking:
The vampires have control of the townās water reservoir. During particularly good weathered days, people donāt rely on them as much since most folks have their own wells. But during moments of drought, desperate farmers have to go to the vampires in order to sustain their crops and livestock. They keep their rates pretty fairāGallon of water for a pint of blood, am I right? Most heathy folks can physically replenish that after a day.Ā
Of course, the vampires loan the water out first, (because hydration is key in efficient bloodsucking). But right now the town is going through a pretty serious drought, and so they are relying on the vampires for more water they usually do. And the vampiresābeing vampires with decent understanding of economicsāraise their blood rates. No one even know where theyāre gettin their source of water from! All they know is: theyāre on the brink of dying from dehydration one way or another.
