We took engagement photos on Sunday after we had to reschedule dates. It all worked out perfectly, timing really is everything. We were supposed to take these on 12/28/19 but Tails (our cat) scratched up the right side of my face pretty bad and it was super noticeable and healing during Christmas baca so we decided to wait.
Lauren, our amazing photographer was so flexible and understanding about everything. The weather wasn’t what we wanted anyways and Sunday it was perfect! We had snow on the ground, sun and it wasn’t too cold either. She sent us 18 sneak peeks yesterday and I’m so obsessed with every single one! Reed is too! We can’t wait to see the rest!
Here are some of the casual ones 🤗 I’ll share the rest here too.

Happy New Year!
I have been meaning to play catch up since the holidays but as you probably know holidays get crazy and this is my first moment I’ve felt like sitting to write everything down. I’ve been trying to take full advantage of my time off and not be working or online too much.
I feel like a lot happened over the last two weeks! Our holiday was nice, a lot of time spent with family and each other. I gifted my fiance a Getaway as a part of his Christmas gift and we spent the night in a cabin in the woods, It was so fun and definitely needed!
Alright so a few things happened over break:
1) Our engagement photos were supposed to happen Saturday after Christmas but my fat cat jumped on my face at 6 a.m. on 12/23 & squashed those plans...my face was fucked up guys. She got my eye and two gashes in my cheek. She jumps on the bed with her claws out to catch herself and in the 4 years we’ve had her this has never happened but she landed on my face this time. The kicker: I thought my fiance punched me in his sleep AND he was just about to wake me...so anyways we rescheduled for Jan 19th I’m bummed because I was really excited to get our photos done & save the dates done but everything happens for a reason.
2) Reached out to the officiant and he has agreed to do our wedding! He charges $100 which goes straight to the restoration of our historic venue.
3) So things have been shaky with the Inn we are blocking rooms at for the wedding. Basically I took a tour in October after signing a contract and realized the numbers were all wrong...we really only need about 30 rooms total to block and so the guy I’m working with honestly sucks he’s super busy so he never responds and its frustrating. I’m trying not to be a bridezilla but he keeps saying oh yeah I’ll send you this and then I don’t get it or I need to remind him. So I met with Olivia this woman when I toured and she was amazing, changed the contract for me and gave me all the info I needed, answered all of my questions and then come to find out he emailed me in response to an email I sent her saying she is no longer there! BUT all is well in the world...a woman also named Kristen but spelt Kristin called me the other day and smoothed everything over. She emailed me immediately and was wonderful to work with and talk to. I’m feeling so much better about that now. Now Reed just needs to decide if he wants to get ready at his parents or in the suite across from me.
3) Picked up my CORRECT size wedding band! Its so pretty I wore it while we walked around and for most of the night until we got home!
I rescheduled our registry sip & scan for the last weekend in Jan but haven’t heard back yet on a confirmation yet. And AC Moore is closing so I found some cute candle holders for our sweetheart table $3 each to use (with fake candles for decor)
Lastly I ended up hating the way I looked in almost all the dresses I got for the bachelorette so I sent them back ordered some spanx and cried lol.
AND......WE HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN ENGAGED FOR ONE YEAR (And technically a day) I thought last year was great...I have a really great feeling about 2020!

My FMIL was asking what my veil looked like :) figured I’d post on here too!

Good news:
The shoes for the wedding arrived!
I love my wedding shoes! Perfect heel & pretty lace
Reed loves my shoes too!
Bad news:
The Vera Wang super cute pointed toed flats did not look as I imagined and were uncomfortable so I returned them
My wedding shoes now won’t get the BOGO offer I will pay full price but its not so bad just $50 + tax & shipping.
My feet are different sizes so my right wedding shoe fits perfect and the left flops off my heel so I have to go a size down and return them which is a pain but at least I have plenty of time...
David’s is so annoying with all of their policies.
There’s something so empowering (especially as a young professional woman) about making a large purchase for myself.
I really want to buy a set of pearl earrings because a lot of my jewelry is just cheap crap I wear for fashion (with the exception of a few pieces) & I have never had a true set of real pearls.
For accessories for my wedding I’m keeping it simple. I would love to wear my moms pearl necklace she wore on her wedding day as something borrowed if she will allow it and then buy these pearl earrings to have for my wedding day and hopefully if I take care of them, the rest of my life!
Some women drop money on shoes, some on purses and although I do love both of those I feel like slowly collecting some nice jewelry to pass down in my family would be cool. Now to budget this while also trying to pay for our wedding...HA wish me luck!
