scariest thing about dawntrail so far is american accents existing in ffxiv. but fr the like american southwest zone is kind of weird bc tural (fantasy north & south america) as a whole is depicted as being like, pre-colonization/minimally-colonized, but then we randomly have a cowboy town area with american accents full of like people drilling for oil, but then they all still have like fictionally indigenous names ? like the local tribes just randomly decided to westernize? its odd. in the super racist and shitty BLU questline they do like confirm that some of the north americas have begun being colonized for oil but that doesn't explain why everyone here has indigenous names still. just lots of weird little like. lets brush over this type decisions. its not like godawful like ffxiv's other brushes with the americas but it's not great so far either.. i'll withhold final judgement until i finish the zone but ehhhh
