I'm honestly so grateful to be part of Filiment. They've helped me realize that dance is something I really love. After an embarrassing incident during a field trip in middle school and a traumatizing experience in high school (because my mom thinks you can put a gender on certain activities), I thought I was never going to dance again. During my freshman orientation, one of my now best friends was telling me I should dance with her at the blackout party later that night. When the time came, I couldn't stay any longer than an hour; I left and went back to my room because I felt like I didn't belong. Fast forward to my first Mount Madness: I never thought I'd be performing like that, in front of my college. I was nervous as fuck, but I felt AMAZING. That's how I knew I was going to stick with it. I won't lie though, there were moments when I wanted to drop, moments when I felt like I wasn't a real dancer, but never did I ever skip a performance. Fast forward to present day: now I am treasurer on eboard and a budding CHOREOGRAPHER. I still can't believe I've made it this far as a dancer. I am at a loss for words! The amount of support that circulates throughout this FAMILY and the people who know and love us is immeasurable. And I'm extremely thankful for that. Even after I graduate from CMSV, I'll still dance. It's become part of me; how does one sever a major component of their heart and soul without a hint of hesitation?
