Do you wanna know the secret* to people being nice to you, doing you favors, maybe even bending the rules a little for you? You have to be as polite as you possibly can every time you interact with them. Hello, pardon me, please, if it's no bother, thank you, have a nice day. It goes an incredibly long way, you can't imagine. "What if it makes me look meek?" Who cares, as long as you don't let people actually take advantage of your kindness? People remember an asshole, and there's no coming back from that first impression. They also remember someone who's always been polite and kind to them, and they'll respond in kind. Or maybe they won't, but at least you won't be at fault and they can't justify their attitude to you with your rudeness.

So idk if I told this story before, but it's kinda funny and kinda not, so: when I developed IBS and we didn't know what it was, I got sent to a doctor to do an ultrasound of my intestines. And during the exam, he's looking really hard and he can't find any sign that there's something wrong, no tears, so much so that he starts doubting me. Like I showed up and asked for a gut ultrasound but I don't know what I need, I'm a stupid patient, yknow.

I have way too many likes to my own taste, because of when I started on this website some years ago, and I'm still not very comfortable rebloging. So, to clear out my likes (that I now use differently) and to get over that discomfort, I'm going to start tumblering correctly and use the queue function. This was a mostly silent blog, but expect more posts (reblogs) more regularly now.
