figureskatingdisneylover replied to your post “I'm past the point of worrying that I'm not pretty enough, because I know that can be fixed with all the make-up and everything; but I just feel like I don't look enough like any of the characters to audition. So I was wondering if you know if in auditions they simply decide on their own who you look most like or if you have to audition for a particular character - y'know what I mean? One day I really do want to audition; I'm just worried I'll embarrass myself in case I don't look the part!”
To the anon, you don't say anything to them. You simply audition and hope to get your number called! Best of luck, and don't stop auditioning!
Exactly! :)
I wasn't the person on anon, but yeah, keep your sights set on remembering that they really do only choose a few people. It's true. 2-7 people get fit in an audition, and only a few get hired within a few months! Definitely go for the experience. I feel bad for many girls because some of them really expect to get it on their first try, and I feel bad when they give up after three or four auditions. So go for the fun of it; you never know, you may get pulled after all! :)
That’s my ultimate fantasy, just to get past the first round on my first try! But hey, if they don’t pick me it’s not the end of the world. There’s more auditions to go to, more to get cut from, and more to learn from them.
Don't worry about your weight. There isn't much you can do in a few days, so walk in there with confidence! :) You're going to do great! :)
*blush* thank you! i’ve lost weight over the last year and i’m a size 12 now (or 10 depending on the brand of jeans lol).
also, i read the ENTIRE disney diaries blog and there is SO much stuff that i am completely unaware of. can you explain to me the whole “hangout” thing? i kept seeing that word being used and saying that you’d be “hanging out with snow white”. is that the phrase they use at disney when you’re trying out for a specific character?
Oh yeah! It's totally cool you kept them on your blog. Go light but put some on! Try putting on enough makeup that you would wear when simply going outside. Go for a natural look. :) Not too much, but just right! If you go through thesearemydisneydiaries (tumblr URL), she documented all of her 10 auditions before she got it. Go through all of her posts. They're all worth the read! :) I think sweatpants are good, but try going for a fitting look. Try to show your figure. This definitely helps!
oh wow, awesome!! *scurries over to read*
that’s the part that worries me the most. i’ve seen some full figured princesses around but not a lot. i think i have the face (or something close) and i know i have the personality but that darn waistline. T_T

I've gone to several face auditions, and going casual is a better idea than wearing a dress. Oh, and no heels. :) haha! All that matters is that you bring YOUR SMILE! Don't stop smiling, and stand tall! :) They love confidence as well! Wearing jeans is even fine, just don't wear clothes for a commercial audition. I really hope you get it! I love making friends here who get it! :)
oops. good thing i brought my walking shoes. are character shoes too much of a heel? i can guarantee that i won’t be able to stop smiling. i’m so excited!!
ahh thank you so so much for all your advice! i would die happy if i get to be a face character. i’m gonna be working on my resume tomorrow and printing out a copy as well.
ahhh! The Jan 2 audition. Busywithdisney is going on that day too! Go and see her. She's just wonderful! Usually, when auditioning for WDW, it's ultimately best to go for a comfortable look. Yoga pants is worn by almost every girl. Wearing a dress won't make much of a difference as to what they think of your face. Casting directors themselves like it when you go comfortable. There will also be dancing, (if there is little people who attend), so something very casual is recommended. Continued! >
wow, i am so shocked yet so relieved! good thing i brought my sweatpants with me to my mom’s place.
what do you think about makeup? the website says to keep it light but definitely wear some. i’m so thankful that you found my post. i’d be showing up looking like i going to a dinner party if it wasn’t for you!
(ps. i hope you don’t mind me posting these. i wanted to be able to go back and read them. ^_^)
