@fieldknowledge made this neat starter!
Cyan had been here before, to the shrine. But that was back when he was a Rocket. It had been rough, tackling it when he was so afraid of bugs, but he’d managed.
It felt wrong then, though. Like since he was a Rocket, his presence was defilement it. He didn’t stay long.
Today, however, he was a new man, and he followed the trail he remembered, a mess of berries and sweet buns in his bag to leave as tribute to the grass-type.
He kept hearing shouts on his way over. Grunts of effort and force. someone was trying to make their way there from another side. An impressive feat, going by the density of the forest.
Cyan was surprised to see that it was a man, older than him, and more built. He must have just gotten there as well, face red and lounging under a tree with some pokemon.
“I see! I bet you are exhausted after fighting all the foliage!” he chirped in a joking manner, walking toward the man. “Do you have any water?” he holds out his own bottle. “I haven’t touched it yet. This place, even though you can hardly see the sun through the treetops it’s still pretty warm, right?”
