HOMIE your tag on my socks post. we are asian/pac islander siblings. I literally cannot find a shoe that isn't trying to crush all my toe bones into dust. why aren't there shoes for us wide foot folks? one time i went to a fancy shoe store and they scanned my feet on a fancy foot scanner thing, and the lady went, "wow, you're like in the 99th percentile of wide feet..." like WHY did she have to say it like that???
YOOOOO. It lichrally sucks so badddd :( shoes, knee-high socks, most cuts of tops and pants, you name it. The bigger companies are owned by the USA/Europe that cater to predominantly white, black, or asian body types. None of those are anywhere near the pac-isl build and i'm sooooo frustrated with looking for stuff that fits me well. I can live my life in slightly ill-fitting clothing but, shoes. Shoes are so important. And for local brands, I'm 99% sure that the templates/models they use come from "universal" standards like the US so the sizing is STILL wack even if it's made locally. Shoes that have a wide option are... not wide enough.
I have a pac-islander built, yet i live in asia. So clothes and shoes here are meant to fit East Asians. But our feet look like this:
Or at least that's what my feet would look like, if my toes were allowed to exist. I didn't know better in high school and i wore CONVERSE for 80% of the time. This was before i realized that i am Not a White Person™ with narrow feet. My compromise nowadays is thong-type sandals and shoes that come in "wide".
There are some blogs that list shoes with a wide toebox so you could maybe look at those?
