Iām back into Harry Potter (I donāt acknowledge JKR) at the moment, and something we donāt talk about enough is that in Deathly Hallows, half-blood & Muggle-born wizards are actively being hunted, interrogated and put on trial simply for not being pure blood. Thatās eugenics shit right there!
Voldemort and the Death Eaters are actual pure blood supremacists, and Umbridge is the manipulative, power-hungry face of it all within the ministry. We even see ministry workers publishing anti-Muggle propaganda, claiming that Muggles are dangerous to wizards.
Thereās some serious Muggle discrimination within the HP universe. The only Muggles we know in HP that are actually decent people are Hermioneās parents, and even they donāt have speaking roles. Jacob in FB is the only exception.
Wizardās donāt actually respect Muggles as people. Even Arthur Weasley sees them more as a fascination rather than living humans with full lives. He talks about Muggles the same way people talk about animals. I love Arthur, donāt get me wrong, but thatās a far cry from respect.
Obviously this all comes from the fact that Muggles arenāt supposed to know about wizards and therefore wizards apparently never talk to or interact with them, and I assume the history of burning witches would make wizards wary of persecution, but the fact is that the wizards are the ones with the fire power who treat Muggles as a separate species. Itās so fucked up!!!
