FFTB is a fic I’ve had in my mind for years since starting writing for the fandom in late 2018, but I’ve grown from that time period and have started accepting that things in my life are going to have more importance than other things and realizing that you’re not capable of all these different things is something that is…essentially, okay, and more than likely should be one of the many realizations that you come to in your lifetime.

I’m someone who really struggles with not following through and finishing something; I’m all about starting, pushing through, and finishing my intended project or goal — and so I realized that for me, it makes this really hard. But, recognizing that maybe it just isn’t the right time for this specific goal, or that there are more important aspects in life to focus on, is something that is okay.

Being completely transparent, I have thought for months about this because I knew ultimately, even if I did start — I most likely wouldn’t finish. I didn’t want to let people down for all the effort they put into gifting OCs and creating these wonderful characters who over the past year I’ve worked with and written with, and knowing I won’t be able to write their story, genuinely made me very sad. But, I have a future ahead of me that I know will be important to me, and I know I will not have enough time for proper dedication to these characters and that dedication they ultimately deserve.

Tagged below are all the absolutely lovely human beings who submitted OCs for this story idea to me — as I am unable to do what I intended to do, these characters are back in your hands! :) Whether you want to take them and start up a story, put them to rest on the shelf, take part in @mercurygray ‘s Blind Date Prompts (HIGHLY rec!! I am doing it again because it was *super fun* last year!), or gift them to someone else, they are all yours! (and of course, I am without a doubt offering up a small option; cameos in a small fic idea I’ve been working with, is something I’m always down for for these characters as well if you want to work them into fic somehow!)

My ambition that pushed me towards this story and concept and idea, excited me more than anything, and I thank you all for taking the time to submit absolutely wonderful original characters. It meant the world to me and still does to know all of you submitted characters like you did - thank you for that experience!! :)

If you have any questions, any of you are more than welcome to come into my askbox or message box to talk, if you want to ask me questions, or understand more why I made the decision I did; I am more than willing. And any of you who are reading this and had been interested, you are more than welcome as well into messages or my askbox. I am someone who isn’t a fan of letting others down, so in general, I am sorry this fic won’t be completed or accomplished! Maybe the future withholds more time! :)

Meanwhile, my current plans revolve around finishing Landslide up as that story I started as a senior in hs and am very close to finishing. As far as afterwards, I have a few ideas of shorter fics I can possibly do that won’t require as much work as my previous fics and such, but will still keep me writing and creating (I’m a STEM major and having that creativity and artistic outlet is a WELCOME balance to the science world!).

Accepting that sometimes, you may not be able to get something done necessarily because of those more important aspects of life is okay; whether it’s because you lost interest, have more important dedications to focus on or think you have another idea that’s better - that’s okay! It’s all about what you enjoy doing and what you feel ultimately will be most beneficial for you in the short term and/or long term! I’m still slowly accepting it, more than anything, but I know putting this message out will help relieve some of those stresses I had.
