Read my first ever Steddie fic!

100k+ long fic written post season 4 / pre season 5. Steve dies (this is literally in the first paragraph so not a spoiler) but El and the Party end up merging with an alternate timeline - one in which the Upside Down gates were never opened and everyone is alive (yes, everyone. Benny from the diner even gets a mention.).

Dead Kids Support Group, all the chosen family feels, incredible characterization, an actual look at trauma and PTSD, lots of friendship and actually talking about feelings, all with Steve realizing he’s bi and falling for Eddie in the background

Literally my only negative I can think of is that Mike is straight. I’d say the endings are almost too happy, but isn’t that the whole point?

Another Byler fic rec! Mainly takes place in 2004 with lots of flashbacks over the years as well. Mike visits Will’s city for a week for work and they spend time catching up with one another and dealing with feelings that never went away. Love a lot of the small character details and there were a few moments that had me smiling at my kindle as I read!
