Fondant Cake is a wonderfully done embodiment of the heart.

She’s a prominent member in the local religion, shown to be trusted and cares for those around her no matter what, and is in general a kind and usually peaceful soul, however unlike in many narratives of such characters she also is an independent being and is far from any sort of pushover.

When an army she did not know was at the gates of her town she did not hide, she did not flinch, she took charge. She put her people in the church where they would be safe and confronted the problem head on, she had no way to know whether she would be safe or not yet did what she saw was right, that takes immense courage.

When the leadership changed she had the sight to see her country prospering despite the rumors that it was against her god. She saw it was good for her people. Her perception of her deity even reflects this, a kind but wise figure, not someone to crusade for or follow every perceived word of, but more of a symbol to bring people together, give them some peace, and act as an encouragement to stay true to what's right.

When Fondant Cake saw the signs of potential trouble to come she made the choice to leave her home behind and approach the king himself about it. Standing her ground against someone who was a king, a commander of armies, and a food soul all for the good of her people and was recognized.

She becomes a functional equal and advocates for the humanity in people with both kindness and ferocity if needed. She works with Champagne but she is not subservient and I love seeing this in a good heart driven character.
