hey, just wondering about the ease/difficulty of course changes? I have an offer for HSPS, but studying over the past year have found i'm way more interested in history and idk what to do
So it is generally fairly difficult to switch courses, and depends on the college. I know people who switched courses in the first two weeks, and others who tried, but were told they had to wait until the end of first year and get at least a 2.i before it would be allowed.
Once you get to Cam, talk to your tutor. I’d suggest going to lectures for HSPS during the first week, seeing whether you like it or not, and maybe going to some history lectures if you can to compare between the two. If it’s something you decide you want to do, then hopefully your college will be supportive and will let you change immediately- it will, however, probably involve an interview/some kind of test with the history DoS to make sure that you’re qualified to do the history course xx
