I have to ask what does fetishmining mean? You keep mentioning it and if the definition I saw while searching is true I don't think that it counts with the rabbit person?
fetishmining means involving others in the creation or partaking of fetish content while masking the intent as innocent. this absolutely applies to littlewhiterabbitb / scuttlestheseaslug as they refuse to tag their content as such and plays it off as "not real vore." this often is what gets others, especially children, to partake in their content without realizing the true sexual nature of it.

I know you're probably going through old asks and probably want to move on from the subject, but honestly. Thank you for standing your ground against fetishmining. Even if the folks in question didn't continuously victimize themselves while continuously and publicly dwelling on the subject via trying to vagueblog through anonymous asks or just going 'sigh..... this fandom isn't safe for people like me..... SIGH....', I feel like it's a subject more people need to talk & educate their communities about.
I'm pretty confident I was nearly a victim of fetishmining when I was 15, when in a roleplay reply someone's muse abruptly tried to eat mine in a very... Detailed manner out of nowhere. For some reason they deleted their account before I could reply to it as I got back from school. I understand that MAYBE it could've been a scenario of 'Shrek dragon attacking Farquaad in a cartoon scenario with no sexual gratification intended', but the circumstance and way it was written... Askblogs & roleplay blogs still deal with this issue with anons trying to get un-consensual written fetish content to people thinking 'oh this person is just asking for the color of my muse's socks' via ask interactions.
Again, I was also dogpiled on and vagued about for months as I was enjoying vacation in 2023 since there was that Pizzahead hypnotism fetishminer who kept insisting 'it's just a horror AU guys!!' was maintagging their posts while drawing more and more questionable scenarios and I dared to repost their callout since the OG one was posted on a... Gasp... Account that was transparent about their fetishes and tagged their content... So even people who create fetish content don't like these guys who make them all look bad, shocker. Yes, hypnotism isn't automatically a fetish, but you literally drew PH holding a hypnotized Pep in a dog collar while saying 'ISN'T HE SOOO AGREEABLE'. It's crazy because bluntly speaking these people are indeed pretty talented artists, if they had tagged their ''''tamer'''' stuff they would've found a lot of success but. No, apparently.
Sorry that these users are still trying to basically gaslight you into thinking you were in the wrong for PRIVATELY confronting them. It 100% would've stayed private if they just went 'oh shoot, I guess I'll tag it, sorry'. Fetishminers are in every fandom, in most cases these users are just mad they can't cling onto the 'popular fandom' anymore with this completely fair stain on their 'reputation' or whatever. Apologies for rambling a bit, it's just. Wow.
hey you're all good!
this ask ironically came RIGHT after someone via anon tried to trigger my paranoia via posing to be my friend and that i get "unhinged" anytime somebody disagrees with me, and that i've been "harassing" the accused for months. when the last time i publicly talked about them was... in may??? and i've only talked about it again because i see them trying to worm their way back into the community. on me being "unhinged" when i disagree with someone, i'd agree if this was when i was 16, but it's not. if this person is who they said they were, they'd tell me to my face. it's pretty obvious i do struggle with paranoia considering all of my experiences i've talked about publicly, so. yay thanks tumblr anon for being ableist yay
just, thank you, for understanding and sharing your experiences, it means a lot
The anonymous feature is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it allows people to send general asks to your muses out of character. On the other, some people will send anonymous hate or just abuse the feature as a whole to avoid consequence. However, there is something that has been happening for years, not just on tumblr. Fetishmining. What is fetishmining? The broad definition is;
The act of asking someone for fetish content, without them knowing the content is for a fetish or sexual purpose.
In more serious terms, it is solicitation of sexual content without the other side knowing it is sexual content. Which, by all terms, is exploitative and sexual harassment. This twitter thread goes into more detail and does show more examples, but let me show you what this may look like in a tumblr rp setting.
So let's say I write for Super Mario from the acclaimed series of the same name. One day I get on my blog and come across this message;
A bit weird. I think maybe that due to the new game coming out and the cute little detail of Luigi having striped socks, it might spur an anonymous message about his socks... Or something. However, I notice two other asks in my askbox, as well.
Pretty focused on those socks, right? I look at the dashboard and see one of my mutuals answer a similar ask on their Toad blog, in character, completely oblivious. I see a few of my mutuals in a group chat mention they also got the same anonymous messages.
More likely than not, this a case of somebody with a sock-related fetish trying to fetish mine the Super Mario RPC. The best thing to do is to go with your gut and IP block the anonymous user and lightly warn the dashboard about these asks so they can be aware, as well.
Again, anything can be a fetish. Anything can be a kink! It can range from 'conventional' fetishes like vore to even tornados-- No, I'm not kidding.
Just to reiterate what the twitter thread said, this is not kinkshaming. People are totally allowed to have their fetishes and do as they please, to each their own, go wild as long as it's with another adult. However, make sure the other party consents to participating with a kink. If you roleplay that kind of content, list it on your blog in proper and make sure to communicate with your partners before roleplaying it. Even if you want to argue that there's such thing as 'SFW fetishes' (there isn't, talk to a wall, fetishes are inherently sexual), getting someone to participate unknowingly in something they think is merely an innocent character question is really disgusting and exploitative.
Stay vigilant and stay safe. It's fair to simply assume the best out of people especially if it's a one-off anon that may be a bit specific, but keep an eye out on what's being posted on dash and what other anonymous messages your mutuals in the same community are getting.
