Tyler had come to the festival because his friends had asked. If left to his own devices he’d have stayed home. But Cordelia had asked. So out went Tyler with his cane and the full knowledge this would wipe him out for the rest of the evening. It would be worth it though, he told himself, to spend more time with people outside of work.
He was out in the cove when the ground started shaking.
Thankfully, he’d been lucky enough not to get trapped under any trees or stuck in the holes that had open up. Breaking both legs once was more than enough for him. Didn’t make him any less stuck, however. He was surrounded by downed trees and there was no way he’d manage to clamor out without help and someone to hold his cane (and possibly his emotions).
“Cordelia? Ariela?” Who else had been with him, the panic was setting in now it was hard to remember. “Anyone out there? I could uhh, I could use a hand. Or two.”
