     THIS WAS NOT HOW THINGS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE GOING. Did he run his mouth again and find out why that’s never a good idea again? Yes. Was he ever going to learn? Hell no- but he’s still just as stunned when his miscellaneous grumblings about how awful humans were [among other things] netted the equivalent of a ‘well, actually’ from some random guy passing by-

     And when he kept digging that hole, an all-out brawl.

     Blow after blow, parry after parry, he was not at all expecting nor prepared for his comments to get met with such a response - and with the bands around his limbs ever sensitive to his emotional and physical state, he couldn’t afford to fight fire with fire, lest he wind up face down in the dirt paralyzed from the weight. Of course when he wound up getting utterly bodied and pinned by this guy, the shock of anger that flared in his guts at being bested was enough to keep him there regardless of what Fern did next… Which could only mean his next course of action was to keep talking.

Willow can’t quite hide her uncertainty...but there’s no denying her earnest energy as she walks up to him with a wave. Awkward or not, she is determined to make sure that Fern feels welcomed and involved, and not just in the party planning.
