the fish is salt. salt herring, salt salmon

so much salted fish. getting bored of this! i wonder if one can eat a meal, that is not dominated by the taste of salt?

now I can say I've tried something strange and new.

Surströmming is the Devil in a can, salted and rotting and waiting to ruin your night. It smells like someone farted right into your nose and tastes like salt and decay.

The nice lady who served it to me wouldn't let me use the same utensils to eat other, less fermented food afterwards, because the fishstank would linger too heavily on the fork and plate.
