"You're..." he pauses, realizing that he's pointing, pulling his hand back, exhaling, and then standing as politely as he could. Squaring his shoulders, he nods, "Sorry, I shouldn't be pointing, but..."
"Are you...like me?" 'Like him' in a way that Albedo wasn't, even if his brother was the most like him that he knew of. But instead, he gestures to his own horns, his wings, his tail.
"Are you a dragon, too?"

maybe the timing isn't the best, or perhaps it's just the uncertainty of the situation. either way, he's already wondering whether he should even be here at all. stealing brief glances at Dusk from behind his book doesn't help in the slightest. concentrating with too much on his mind is impossible, so he closes the book and leaves his chosen spot, opting to sit near the currently busy painter.
he watches at first, only for a while, then decides to distract her merely for the sake of diverting attention. "what are you doing?" he doesn't need to know, nor is it any of his business but if it gets her to stop being so quiet... he'll try whatever it takes at least once.

Despite being dragged here on such short notice Nian managed to get comfortable in her new abode and unpack the very few belongings she had. It seemed like she was going to be staying here rather than any old Rhodes Island dorm or wherever fit her fancy. Hopefully her roommates (who were nowhere to be seen in the moment) didn't care too much about her eating either. Not that it would've stopped Nian...
But of course there was something particularly special about one of the buildings not too far down. A feeling that shouted "A certain someone that needs to be bothered rather than cooped up in their room all day".
'Lo and behold Nian made her way a few condos down and knocked on the door, and being met with silence before deciding to kick it down herself. Sure a sword would've been cooler but seeing as the only one on hand was a pretty shoddily made wooden one her boot needed to do the talking.
"Well well well I thought I smelled an awfully familiar scent of a certain lazy bones." Knowing her sister the "door kicking" was a much better option to be safe then be constantly trapped in some painted realm.
"How's it going Duskie? Miss me? Gonna come out and greet me or am I gonna have to play hide and seek with ya' "

while Dusk browses at her own leisure, he spares few glances between some odd little trinkets he's been eyeing up in thought. "what exactly are you looking for anyway? you didn't explain before dragging me here." he may not be all that interested in fancier or artistic items like his roommate, but still, he's not opposed to shopping around now and then if asked.
when she doesn't answer though, he stops to see what has her so quiet all of a sudden. "did you find something?" it's hard to tell what caught her attention with all these items in the painter's line of sight, the largest being a table of some kind with cloth draped around the sides. surely that can't be it? nothing else in particular stands out as anything she might like, so perhaps... "is this what you're staring at?"

what had meant to be a relaxing walk soon turned into quite the long break upon passing the lone painter, one working on an impressive looking piece she can't make out much details of at this distance.
so, of course, she steps closer while trying not to startle the other, or disturb the peace too much that prevents completion of such beautiful work. "that's a lovely painting. how long have you been working on it?"
