your love to keep me warm

AO3
Rose snuggled up to the Doctor, deciding she was never going to move from this spot. They were curled up in bed, cocooned in soft blankets as the TARDIS drifted aimlessly through the Vortex. The Doctor was gently running her fingers through Roseâs hair. Rose felt like she would be purring if she was capable.
âDo we have to get up today?â Rose asked, turning so that she could look the Doctor in the eye. She could practically drown in the blue of them and they seemed particularly deep in the low light illuminating the room.
The Doctor chuckled softly and slipped her hand out of Roseâs hair to smooth down her spine, fingers dancing over every bump. âI donât believe we have any pressing engagements today.â
âSo, is that a yes we can stay in bed all day?â
âYes, we can stay in bed all day.â
âPerfect.â
Rose shifted again and captured the Doctorâs lips, kissing her slow and lazy, just relishing the warmth rising inside of her and the way their lips slid together in perfect sync.
She moved her hand into the Doctorâs chestnut curls as she deepened the kiss. A small noise emanated from the back of the Doctorâs throat and she rolled them over so Rose was on her back.
Even as the blankets fell off of them, Rose never felt the chill of the room as the Doctor wrapped her in her love.
kerfuffle
Fem!Eight x Rose drabble for the prompt of âkerfuffleâ over on @legendslikestardust -- 100 words, all ages
(basically the Doctor is the embodiment of that troubled birds post âlooking for trouble and if i cannot find it, i will create itâ)
Rose raised an eyebrow at the Doctor as she stumbled into the TARDIS. Her chestnut curls were a wild mane around her face and there were multiple singe marks on her velvet coat, some of which were still smoking.
âI may have landed us in a bit of a⌠kerfuffle,â she said with a sheepish smile.
âDid you land us in one or did you start it?â
The Doctorâs smile morphed into a grin that lit up her face. âMight have nudged it along a bit.â
Rose laughed. âNext time wait for me so I can help stir things up.â
Fem! Eight x Rose 'starlight'?
The Doctorâs breath caught as her eyes landed on Rose for the first time that evening. The black dress their hosts had gifted her with shimmered with subtle silver embroidery and she looked like the living embodiment of starlight mingling with mortals.
She smoothed down her own blue gown, another gift from the grateful natives, and took a moment to enjoy the feel of stiffened silk beneath her palms and the rustle it made. Then she took a deep breath and set out to greet her companion and claim her for a dance before anyone else found their tongues and asked her first.
The Doctor wasnât planning on sharing tonight, if she had a say in the matter.
Fem!Eight x Charley, relaxing together on the TARDIS, pre-Zagreus.
âCome on, Doctor, youâve got to have a book recommendation for me. Thereâs so many things here that I havenât read yet!â
The Doctor looked up from the book she was halfway reading and took in the way Charley was staring at the nearest bookshelf, head tilted to one side and a hip cocked out as she perused.
âWell, if you hadnât sped through my last recommendation, you wouldnât have this problem yet,â she said, setting her book aside and standing. âI donât think you appreciated it nearly enough.â
âIt was good! Which is why Iâm asking for another one. Iâm sure you know all the books in your library.â Charley turned her head to smile over her shoulder at the Doctor. âAnd you know me so, recommend something.â
âThe library surprises even me sometimes,â the Doctor admitted. She reached past Charley, velvet coat brushing against the soft fabric of her companionâs sleeve, and plucked a book of the shelf. âBut this is an old favorite of mine. A new favorite for you, I would guess. Wonât be published for years yet if we go by your timeline.â
Charley took the book from her hands, letting her fingers linger against the Doctorâs when they brushed together during the exchange. âSounds like a treat then. Thank you, Doctor.â
âAnytime.â
The Doctor turned to go back to her favorite armchair and the mildly boring book that was awaiting her when Charley stopped her with a hand on her shoulder.
âYou know, you could always read it to me if you want to be sure I properly appreciate this one.â
âI could do that, couldnât I?â
âDo you want to?â
âI rather think I do. Come on, letâs get set up somewhere more comfortable than the old sofa in here. The one in the small reading area in the back is better.â
âYou never told me there was a reading area in the back of the library!â Charley complained as she followed after her.
âWell, I expected my Edwardian adventuress to have explored more.â
âHardly have the time when you keep dragging me off on new adventures, now do I?â she shot back, nudging the Doctorâs arm.
âHavenât heard you complain at all.â
âThen you havenât been listening when we hit the TARDIS doors at full speed with an angry mob on our heels.â
They were still bickering when they made it to the reading area but the twin grins on their faces were more important than anything they were saying.

AO3
Roseâs first thought upon waking up to a strange womanâs face looming above her was something along the lines of oh my god, sheâs gorgeous, followed closely by what am I doing on the floor and who is she?
âAh, youâre awake. I was starting to worry.â The womanâs voice rolled over her like a velvet caress, soft as the fingers that were gently testing the edges of what felt like a wound around her temple.
âFeels like someone hit me with a frying pan,â Rose muttered, trying to sit up. She immediately regretted it as the pain in her head intensified.
âNo, no, no, stay still, Rose. I havenât quite figured out the extent of this injury yet and moving is not advisable.â
âFigured that out on my own, thanks,â she snarked. âAnd who are you then, some kind of doctor?â
The womanâs blue eyes flashed with something like exasperation and fondness as she shook her head. âVery funny, Rose. Never heard that one before.â
Rose narrowed her eyes. âWhat are you talking about? That was a serious question.â She moved to try and bat the womanâs hands away from her face. âWho are you and why do you seem to know who I am?â
The woman pulled back, eyebrows drawing together as she stared down at her. âThis isnât the time for a joke at my expense, not when you actually have a head wound.â
fem!Doctor, fire, trick
Everything was engulfed in flames. The Doctor could feel the heat licking at her face, at her very bones as the fire danced closer to where she was frozen in place.
The world was on fire. Her world was on fire.
Gallifrey was burning and she was the one who had lit the final match.
Her TARDIS was pleading with her to get inside so they could get away from the dying planet before the Time Lock was set and it was too late. But she was frozen in place, unable to muster the motivation to escape, not feeling worthy of escape.
The flames engulfed her, different than those of regeneration. They crawled up her velvet jacket and flickered up her tangled, chestnut hair, devouring it as she screamed.
"I'm still trying to figure out where the paint came from. And why the face?"
