#felid bittybones

*I haven't seen any stories about the Felid bitties so far! I do love a good bittybones or lamia bittybones story though. I even have my own Bittybones and Bittyswap stories in progress!

*I think it would be fun if everyone sent in recommendations for their favorite bittybones, lamia bittybones, or non-skeleton bitty stories. I could then post the list with links for everyone to enjoy! Feel free to make suggestions in the comments, reblogs, or ask box (anon is always available).

Fire’s king, Tyr, came in after, carting a huge box of nail polishes, tools, and equipment. “Yesss. Nail art.” He didn’t seem thrilled, more resigned, but he would always support his squish.

Fire found a place to plug in her gel nail light and sat next to it, making sure there was somewhere corals could sit and not watch at all. After all, corals couldn’t enjoy things like this, it wasn’t in their nature. As soon as her cousin was sitting, she snagged Ora’s hand and started painting her nails with the colors of a coral’s tail, then started adding a subtle scale pattern with a piece of a produce bag that looked like miniature fishnets. There were plenty of bitty sized fake nails for anyone who wanted to try their hand at either having them painted or doing it themselves. They were more than happy to do the same thing again on the felid level if the felids didn’t want to join the lamia.

*Usually, the Felids stay in their upstairs area, preferring the customized environment to the lamia adoption area downstairs, but today is an exception. Even Edgar has seen fit to lead a neat down row of hatchlings from the nursery to observe the nail art station. Some of the older hatchlings are even waiting their turn to try some nail art.

*Glitter and rhinestones abound as Papythons, Mambas, and Abyssines design their signature looks. A few Cornies have rolled over to model different style for those who aren't sure what will look best and end up wearing a rather eclectic collection of nails, polishes and gels, and decorations. Corals are totally not crowded around watching and sneaking rhinestones into their pockets and gel onto their nails. No sir. They were just slithering by!

*The scale pattern using the fishnet bag is a big hit, and if fishnet bags dipped in golds, silvers, and iridescent polishes happen to dab along Coral fingertips? Well, that's purely by accident! The Mambas dabbing gold scale patterns onto their bodies is extremely on purpose though. Soon enough, Edgar has to escort the hatchlings back to the nursery, borrowing a very gentle polish remover from Fire for some overzealous little ones who proudly wear large nail paint handprints on their faces.

My recommendations for you are:

Alphkin (UT!Alphys x Munchkin): If you're looking for a Felid who isn't extremely boisterous, an Alphkin might work for you. Alphkin is a bit shy herself, but once trust is built, she's very affectionate. Alphkin is very clever and loves challenging puzzles, including word puzzles. Her favorite video games are ones with interesting storylines!

Honey Bo (US!Papyrus x Boa Constrictor): Honey Bo's need personal space and time to build trust, so they understand a person who is reserved and doesn't want to be touched right away. Honey Bos are great listeners, so feel free to bounce writing ideas off of him. He will also make you playlists for al of your activities!

Chain (SF!Papyrus x Eastern King Snake): Chains form a unique SOULbond with their adopters. A Chain can sense strong emotions from his bonded adopter, and this helps him understand you better. A Chain is very laidback and enjoys video games or just spending time relaxing with his adopter. He wants them to be happy and will always respect boundaries.

How do the lamias (and maybe the felids) react if the owner just stretches and suddenly is making noises of pain cause random cramp?

*The lamias are probably just hanging out. You decide to stretch, no big deal, but suddenly... pain?

Has a decent idea of what a cramp is, uses massage to help: Papython, Krait, King

Decent idea about cramps, uses cuddles to help: FireRing, Pygmy, Chain

Exercise has harmed you, uses humor to help: Corny, Honey Bo

*When it comes to the Felids, you have two types- scientists/observers and warriors/active types. A Felids cat body feels amazing when they stretch, so like real cats, Felids will frequently do stretches and twists to flex the muscles. This means they’ve all got some idea of what cramps are and how they feel.

Scientists (Alphkin, Alphora, Undynx, Siamyne): expect a lengthy lecture about muscles and lactic acid and proper stretching techniques to avoid cramps, but they also know how to move the muscle to relieve the cramp, five finger death punch but it’s a pressure point to relieve a cramp

Warriors (Russyne, Abyssine, Benphys, Alphannah): the only way to relieve the pain of exercise harming you is to exercise, warriors are firm believers in walking it off by warming it up with more stretches, use physical therapy techniques to help you move the leg to relieve the cramp, no fingers or death punches (hopefully)

I've decided I want to adopt the largest Chain lamia you have and a normal full size one too and a Papython that isn't too high energy, pretty please :3

I also want to adopt a Russyne because they are really cute and I really do need an energetic companion

If this fits into the adoption scenario could I spend some time with the kitties and the sneks at the adoption center? :0

*The first time you visited the Lamia (and Felid) Bittybones Adoption Center, you didn’t feel the tug of a SOULbond. After Vex reassured you that sometimes it takes time to find the right Chain (or in your case, Chains), you decided that it might be worth it to spend some time just relaxing with various lamias and Felids at the shop. You’ve dozed with Cornies and Honey Bos, judged Mamba and King posing competitions, and watched epic anime shows with various Felids while some of the Russynes acted out moves for you.

*Speaking of the Russynes, you’ve actually found one that you really like. She’s always focused on you when she reenacts a battle scene, and she’s quite fond of showing off her strength to you in wrestling matches with other Felids and by lifting random things. Today though, she has a smug, sneaky look on her face. She leads you to her nest, glancing to the left and right before moving some manga books to reveal... a smiling Papython! She knew you wanted one, so she conducted some extensive training sessions to find this cheerful little guy!

*You know that technically lamias aren’t supposed to hang out in the Felid area during adoption hours (in case a Felid adopter has a fear of snakes), so you scoop the little guy up along with the Russyne and head for the downstairs area. That’s when you feel it... a tug at your SOUL. Your Chain (s) must be nearby! You rush downstairs to see a commotion at the door. A huge full-sized Chain is stuck in the doggy door. Honey the Pappy puppypapri is pulling his arms, and a slightly smaller full-sized Chain is pushing his his snake tail.

*When the smaller Chain sees you, he begins to hop up and down and wave before redoubling his efforts to shove the other Chain into the shop. You can’t help smiling as you head to the adoption desk. When Vex hands you two forms for the lamia and Felid in your arms, you tell her that you actually need two more. A crash behind you tells you that the other two members of your adoption party have finally made it inside, just in time for paperwork!

(I don’t mind if a question comes up more than once. That just means that it is a topic that people find important! And I don’t consider any questions to be dumb unless the person is deliberately trying to be. You can’t get answers if you don’t ask questions, so questions aren’t dumb!)

*YES! Though I refer to the lamias with he/him pronouns and the felids with she/her pronouns, once you adopt the bitty, you can imagine them however you want. This includes being trans or non-binary! 

*The lamias especially don’t have any gender identifying “signs,” so it really depends on how they identify more than any physical feature of their bodies. A lamia or felid will communicate their gender identity to you if necessary to make sure there aren’t any misunderstandings. If you’re looking for a male lamia, it would be very awkward to adopt one who identifies as female.

A five-foot human woman wearing a witches costume comes into vex’s bitty shop, following closely behind her is Oscar a three-foot coral-cherry lamia and Wilhelm a nine-foot chain lamia, each of them is holding a large box.

“Vex?” the woman calls not seeing the owner of the shop in the front receiving room. The call however startles Honey, Vex’s Pappy puppypapri who had been asleep behind the counter. He rubs at his eye sockets as he steps out from behind the counter, the woman says, “oh, I didn’t see you, I’m sorry for waking you Honey. I brought treats for everyone since its Halloween.” She places the box shes holding down next to the counter, Oscar and Wilhelm follow her lead and place theirs down as well.

She points at the boxes while still kneeling to be level with Honey and say’s “these boxes have small Halloween themed present treat bags, the color of the ribbon tying them closed indicates what kind of bitty the treats are design for, there should be enough for everyone to have at least two bags each.” before returning to a standing position, she giggles a little at Honey’s happy tail wagging at the word ‘treat’.

The door leading to the back rooms then opens as Vex steps through, the woman in the witches costume smiles at her and says “Hi vex, I hope you’re having a Happy Halloween! Oscar and Wilhelm are wondering if they could visit with their old friends who might still be at the shop today?” Once Vex has given her an answer about the visit, the woman relays her message again about the boxes to Vex.

*Vex grins and tells Oscar and Wilhelm to feel free to wander as they see fit. A drowsy Honey is sniffing at the little treat bags, and sees that some are labeled are specifically labeled for the shop helpers: himself, Vex, his brother Poff, Edgar the nursery caretaker, G the Grillbitty who lives with the Cornies, and even Waffle and his mate Syrup and baby Butter! Honey gathers the specifically labeled treat bags to hand them out, feeling very pleased with himself for being so helpful!

*Vex gives a shout of “Treats!” to summon the lamias of the shop, and there is a small stampede as lamias line up to receive holiday goodies. Helpful Papythons push the Corny treat bags under the anti-venom fridge so that the Cornies don’t need to expend energy for them. Shy Corals mumble thank yous, and Rebelle and Lieutenant Cherry make a grand show of collecting a haul of treat bags for their Commander gang (though Vex makes sure they only take the treats meant for them.

*Kings collect treat bags for the Felids who prefer to stay in their area of the shop, and little blue blurs of Pygmies zoom by, grabbing their designated treats at high speeds. Soon the shop settles as each lamia and Felid settles in to enjoy their treats. Vex smiles as Honey, tummy nice and full, curls up behind the counter again to resume his hard-earned nap. Poff snuggles up to him and Vex puts a blanket over them to keep them warm.

*The winners for most love of nail art goes to:

Corals and Abyssines!

*Corals love the texture of nail polishes and gels. They love the colors. The love the little embellishments you can add, and oh man, the stim videos of people creating that nail art? Absolute peak serotonin hours for a Coral. You will never catch them watching the videos. They will deny this love, but if you come home with some freshly done nail art, a Coral will find a reason to touch!

*Abyssines may be tough as nails... but they also like having pretty nails. Abyssine believes that there’s no reason a powerful female can’t be pretty or like dainty things. Plus you could get your nails filed to points and painted to look like they’re all bloody from battle!

*So how do the rest of the bitties feel about nail art?

Like it because fashion statement: Papython, Mamba, Alphkin (gets a full SanRio set), Undynx, Alphora

Too lazy to try it, but thinks it’s pretty: Corny, Honey Bo

Pretty indifferent to it (it’s just fingernails?): Pygmy, Krait, Siamyne

Thinks it’s a bit impractical: King, Chain, Russyne, Benphys, Alphannah

Avoids it because the materials are flammable and he is literally fire: FireRing
