Cloud hadn’t really been to Fibbonaci Ward more than a handful of times. He didn’t like it all that much. To be fair, the upper levels were quite lovely: they had some fairly beautiful views, some rather interesting bits of highly advanced tech, and quite a lot of places to shop. In some ways, it rather pleasant ways, it reminded him of Midgar.
On the other hand, the lower floors were rather disturbing destitute, to rather disturbing levels; and the higher one got, the more... elitist people became. Apparently there were the extremely rich and the extremely poor; and the former liked to be rather literally above the latter.
Not to mention that, in some rather unpleasant ways, it reminded him of Midgar.
Still, for the moment, a view from a terrace outside a small diner wasn’t too bad. As long as you weren’t afraid of a one hundred and sixty floor drop, of course; and as long as you didn’t look straight down to the miserable streets below. Which was exactly what Cloud was doing; this place didn’t have any safety railing, which let Cloud stand far, far close to the edge.
Was this what it had been like, for old man Shinra and his executives? Watching the tiny ants below, living in poverty, scraping out a living? No, not quite, he supposed. Midgar had built an entire second city above the ground, blocking the slums from their own sight.
Here, though, the view was plain as day.
