Okay, skills are out and I’m...still disappointed by the lack of creativity but the skills are good. That being said, Claude’s out here getting shafted with skills, AGAIN, so my free pull will probably be Dimitri. There is no reason at all why Claude should not have gotten Golden Deer Rule. A double chill is nice but it’s not the draw those personal skills are, and he’s a lord just as much as they are. Atk/Spd Rein is interesting, but not enough for me to be going out and getting him for, or even keeping on him because stuff like Ground Orders exists. If anything, the skill that’s popping out at me is ATK/Spd Unity, which seems to be what Fallen Ike does, only inheritable, which, yeah that’s pretty darn exciting. Dimitri’s looking better and better the more I look at him because I’ve been thinking about building a DC/Steady breath unit for the longest and Dimitri fits that very well. Thematically this is weird too. From what I can tell, they sort of matched weapons up with their traditional Archenean archetype characters but...why? Also, Lysithea doesn’t even fit that theme! They just threw Dark Spikes T on her (which, to be fair, does make sense, but ack, it’s just so obvious and brave units shouldn’t be obvious) and gave her the standard speedy mage kit, so essentially she’s better Micaiah, but make it goth. Which, fine, I think she’ll be incredibly destructive. I do appreciate the love of Noontime on this banner though. I’m always throwing Noontime on people. As for Edelgard, I like her axe because it’s basically turning everybody into Anna, but I also feel like this essentially benches Anna forever, which isn’t my favorite because I still want to build her. I actually keep hitting a character limit trying to get all my thoughts out on this banner so I may just keep ranting about this in the comments.
