Is it bad that I’m actually kind of salty that these are just...war versions in different outfits? Before everybody seemed tied together thematically (example: the Y1s and being styled after their fathers), and now it’s just...what they were doing, but make it fashion? Maybe it can be argued this is what they wear post war arc, but I was hoping for something more creative. I had dreams of blue dagger Brave Edelgard (for the dagger she got from Dimitri) and an Almyran Claude with a scimitar or something. Maybe a colored staff for Lysithea to introduce that into the game. I just wanted to see what they might have been had the game gone down differently, like if Edelgard was never taken, if Dimitri never experienced Duscur, if Claude never came to Fodlan, if Lysithea hadn’t been experimented on. IS you could have done so much with this particular group of characters and I’m actually kind of sad you didn’t. That being said, the art is so pretty. Dimitri is in full husbando territory with this art in particular. Lysithea’s art is a major step up as well. I’m looking forward to seeing skills, but for now I think I’m just...meh. I’m also looking forward to seeing who’s going to be the B!Lyn, B!Veronica, B!Micaiah of this banner. Who’s going to be the one with staying power in the meta? My money’s on Claude for that, or at least that Claude’s skills will be the biggest jump up in quality because let’s face it, regular Claude could be 4-5 star and I wouldn’t be that upset about it, based on skills alone.
