      “oh. great. my babysitter’s here,” alexandra grumbles, turning on her heels to face the older male. “you know, i’m more than capable of handling myself. i’m not a child. and i can assure you that i can literally rip these assassin’s heads off.”

okay, SHOWTIME. the door rings as he walks into the bakery, louder than it might usually, considering it was practically empty. probably since it was near closing time. so with his PURPOSEFULLY bad timing and a sad face to match, he approaches the counter. “hey— i’m so sorry to bother you, but do you know of anyone with rooms to rent? i’m a bit DESPERATE...” while scott was serious about his search for decent shelter, he really tried to amp up the whole LOST PUPPY factor. he’s no idiot— he knows no one in their right mind would give a strange man a place to live off the bat. so cue the sad eyes and soft tone of voice. 

    “Uhm miss? Sorry to bother you,” he said to a very pretty young woman shopping near him. “I forgot my glasses,” damn admitting that really stung. “Could I ask you to check if it says ‘peanuts’ anywhere in here?”

“Hm? Wait, wha’? N-... No. Ves. Honestly, I ca-... I really can’t dance! If I do I migh’ end up steppin’ on yer’ toes!” stuttered Richard, his face completely flushing. However, his constant excuses didn’t seem to perturb Ves. Instead, Richard found himself being pulled up from his seat, before he felt his hand being guided onto the curve of Ves’s waist, while her’s rested upon his broad shoulders. “Sway... erm... okay...” Richard began to sway his body, all the while he kept his gaze glued onto the floor. His movements were rather stiff, but it was better than nothing. “I dunno’ if you’d count this as slow dancin’, but yer’ toes still seem to be unbruised, so tha’ has to count for somethin’ ye’?” Richard smiled sheepishly, his movements still calculated and careful, as he continued to try and keep the tip of his shoes away from Ves’s feet.

     “hey, uh, can i buy  you a drink?” 

          ALEXANDRA   HAD   spent the first half of her return pacing the living room. nervous was the understatement of the year. she’s sure abel is just as riled up as she is. ‘came back earlier than expected, we need to talk.’ was the text she had sent abel when she walked into their shared home. the brunette picked at her fingertips waiting for the alpha’s arrival, trying to keep her breathing steady. seven weeks, she was carrying a child — their child for seven weeks. the anticipation is what’s getting her really, she can’t figure out if he’ll be happy or not (despite her older brother’s reassurance that abel would be) and that’s what scares her the most. her heart beat only quickens when she hears abel’s keys jingling in the door, turning to face him as her teeth dragged across her bottom lip. “hey bubs, we cut the pack stuff short because um some stuff came up.” 

HE  TAKES  the  necessary  steps  to  close  the  distance  in  between  them.  hands  folded  neatly  behind  his  back.  “  —  hey.  whatever’s  going  on  in  that  head  of  yours. you  gotta  let  me  know,  alright?  you’re  not  dealin’  with  this  alone.  ‘ts  what  i’m  here  for  .”  despite  his  brooding  demeanor  he’s  soft  spoken. 

“i know i’m in no position to demand anything but,” she takes in a deep breath, looking up at the alpha. “i need you to shut up and listen. you can yell at me later  —  just please listen to what i have to say.”
