Vergil and Maka meet at the library, naturally. Neither takes the initiative to start a conversation very much, but there's a sort of mutual respect between library-goers who occupy the same space quietly. Plus, Vergil has a natural aura (or perhaps not so natural, as he's refined it for years) that intimidates away most rowdy and unwanted company.

Most.

Soul is not "most".

He still tries to get Maka to see the daylight more than, you know, once or twice a month or never if she had a great deal of say in the matter. He does so one day while Vergil is present, and, witnessing this exchange, Vergil decides to intervene on Maka's behalf (he knows the feel, kid). He may or may not (read: definitely does) passively insult Soul along the way.

Maka surprises him by jumping to her partner's defense. Vergil is suitably impressed and more embarrassed than he'd willingly admit, and though he cannot bring himself to apologize, he does relent and offer ("if this rapscallion must interrupt such an important task as studying") to take them out for lunch.

For the kids, it turns out the old man with the weird hair isn't so bad. (Not near as crazy as Stein-sensei.) And for Vergil, he's just glad the girl has at least one good friend that's not a book. That was what got him through, after all.

(I don’t know specifically. I would say warrior class, with probably bard as a secondary class. Music abilities and whatnot XD)

1- When Toph gets her metal-bending back, it’ll be Spidey’s web slinging that gives her the idea to use metal cables.

2- Spidey and Soul never want to play BS with her because she always wins (she doesn’t tell them she can tell when they’re lying.) [Also assume this is after she learns to braille and the cards have raised bumps.]

3- Toph never tells him this but she comes to see Peter as the brother she never had.

The rumors and whispers around Hive City were hard to ignore. It seemed impossible—the scientists have come out of their shells and are walking around amongst the rats in their maze. He’s heard all the speculations—that they were in a parallel dimension, that they were bits of data. One conversation eavesdropped almost convinced him ‘they’ weren’t even real—that this was all an elaborate dream.

Not that Soul believed that much. He had his own suspicions, like the rest. Hence why he was poking around that grand, ominous building no one was allowed to enter. Perhaps he could catch someone walking out…

…No, that was just stupid. They were scientists, not ghosts. Maybe he could just walk right up to one. He had means to defend himself, after all, if anything should happen. Maybe he’d even get credit for being ballsy.

Aha! There was one. Soul mentally prepared himself, and walked up to the woman.

"Hey. Are you one of the scientists?"

Well, here goes nothing.

     She blinks not twice, but thrice upon being addressed by an unfamiliar face, curiousity easing across umber features. Jaunty delight does not disappear as she turns her body to meet the speaker, clearly amused by the fact this one had the gall to enter this building alone. “You are indeed correct. But what scientist may you be referring to? That may be my profession. I may just be any old Jane from the block. Unless of course, you’re asking for your scientific gods then you may have found what you’re looking for.”
