Note # 5: Growing makes me hunger.
I am not full. I recently ended a hot sweeten white bread and butter appetizer, now I´m delighting myself with a craft smash potato covered under Filet Mignon sauce with sliced roasted bacon pieces. Even though, I enjoy this exact moment, the marvelous taste of this exceptionally cooked sirloin bite on my mouth; I wonder what is coming next.  It’s like if my aspirations and goals go one step further every time I finish the main course. And I want more.
We are the starving generation, the ones that aspire higher and sometimes the companies we work in; even the world´s infrastructure, is not prepared for this dynamic need of the “all you can eat”. We want to do more, to challenge our ways to do things and learn and be better. Work stability goes second place and happiness prevail.
I am not saying we think we live in paradise or that we are dragged into immature impulses seeking for a utopia. But being happy is all about learning, doing, growing and giving. To give is key for Millennials. We are giving ourselves into the world and its causes, affiliating into company’s cultures and brand promises because the meaning is all that matters to us. And we need to make sure we are giving in the right way with no waste.Â
Our behavior is ruled by the responsibility of generating change. This commitment for transcendence and relevance can’t keep us fully satisfied, reason by which some refer to us as the “frustrated generation”. Why is that? …Because we don’t settle? I´m going to confess you my friend that is no sin to be motived by the idea that there is more; it’s better to feel than to conform. That’s why we will keep seeking for what our hearts demand. Erasing every limit and feeding our hunger for more; and more is all we can afford.
