I am very excited for hermitcraft mcc so here are my team yellow designs! mostly a combination of their individual past mcc skins and my own design elements for their characters, usually life series. I had just been going to sketch their designs all next to each other but it turned into an illustration and Cleo wasn't going to fit on the same page, so don't mind the casual two-page situation.
also a quick concept for a version that is moreso based on life series, inspired by the complicated relationships the characters tend to have in life series. not coloured mainly because it felt weird to use anything other than black and red

it's somewhat explained on the page but here is an in-depth explanation of the different design choices and how they are shared between characters:
- Gem: general silhouette based on previous mcc skins and also outfits she has worn to twitch rivals, odd socks is a common feature in her mcc skins, bi shoes as usual, and space buns because space buns
- Cleo: general silhouette based on my Past Life design for them, which in itself is a mix of their base outfit, aerobics outfit, and pride mcc skins. stripey socks as per her main skin, and ponytail because ponytail
- Pearl: general silhouette based specifically on her previous cyan mcc skins, with the skirt taking more inspiration from her empires s1 outfit. paired with black tights and boots because she often wears those at things like twitch rivals and I think the combination with a light flowy skirt is fun
- Scott: overalls because a lot of his mcc skins have overalls and it felt like a good switch-up from the others, and otherwise general colours and features from his main skin
- Gem & Pearl: skirt, bracelets
- Gem & Cleo: short skirt/pants, long-sleeved top
- Gem & Scott: sunflower on their left, sneakers, blue as their secondary colour
- Cleo & Pearl: sunflower on their right, boots & tights, cyan as their secondary colour
- Cleo & Scott: pants, necklace
- Pearl & Scott: long skirt/pants, short-sleeved top
- all: yellow (obviously), stripes somewhere, tiny flowers on pants/socks, bigger flowers on top (bi for Gem, nb for Cleo, Scott's usual coloured stripes from his main skin, and yellow for Pearl)

a page of drawings I did after session 2 of giggs dnd! my brain took the tiny snippet of Amity and these two lines and very quickly went down the doomed yuri route (to be honest I've been waiting for an excuse to ship Ruby with an npc since session 0 because I personally think she deserves to kiss women after putting up with whatever the boys have going on).
Torment is also there, mostly because I wanted to be able to explore the full range of tieflings we have so far.
I have another page I drew at the same time but couldn't fit them in the same post so those will come later!
more of @sadagios 's gempearl siren AU, this time with more Gem and Pearl! mostly an excuse to draw fullbody versions of both their "land" and "water" appearances.
I like the concept that Gem and the other sirens wear this very summery clothing while Pearl and Grian (the humans) are wearing sweaters and beanies. kind of gives the impression that the sirens simply don't feel the cold, or otherwise that their clothing is part of the shell necklace's illusion, both of which are equally somewhat unsettling.
as soon as I saw @sadagios 's concept for a gempearl siren AU, it fully took over my brain and I just had to see what they might look like in colour.
please excuse the tiny headshots of the boys, I mostly just wanted to draw Gem and Pearl but still felt the need to at least partially convey the overall colour concept lol

I gave Gem blue skin based on hc10, Lizzie purple-blue from Empires, and from there gave the others variations that made sense to them and their colour schemes. I considered also going for Empires with Jimmy but decided green suited the other two more. also since this is ultimately a Wild Life AU, I opted to use the top my Wild Life Gem wears instead of a full sweater, purely out of aesthetic selfishness. (I realise I haven't posted any of my life series designs on here, I'll amend that soon probably).
side note, discovered while drawing these that my joint pain is affecting my hands now and was having some difficulty on the smaller drawings, and colouring neatly. so it's a bit messier than my usual standard, bear with me as I figure out how to manage that :)
and the second page of Ruby and Amity drawings! I sketched these right after session 2 and coloured them more recently.
I had an idea that Ruby would have had longer hair in the past, then cut it after the uh, Incident (I'm assuming that whatever happened while Torment was in the house probably lead to his death and potentially also Amity's, or at the very least meant that Ruby never saw her again and also feels immense guilt about the whole situation. hence, rough hair cut).

it occurred to me that having free will means I can draw Ruby Nyx with Alysa Liu's hairstyle (very cool figure skater, everyone should go watch her olympic performances if you haven't already).
this was super fun to draw, I should do this sorta thing more often.

the scar on her cheek was born out of a wrong line that I attempted to fix, but I kinda like it lol.
her lip piercing was a result of me misunderstanding Alysa Liu's, but I still like it and think it's cool
clothing was a bit of an afterthought since I was mostly focussing on her hair and jewellery, so it's kinda just generic fantasy getup, plus I wanted her to have a high-collared vest. might figure out something more specific later down the track, we'll see!
here's an earlier drawing of Ruby from a couple weeks ago, at the time I had definitely been feeling a lack of personality in this design, I think the wilder hair was absolutely what I was missing:

been reading Wayfarers by Becky Chambers (currently up to the second book) and decided to draw Sidra!
I discovered a couple chapters later that this interpretation is quite inaccurate, but I still liked the concept and decided to draw it anyway lol.

was initially just drawing this for myself and it didn't occur to me to take progress shots until I'd already started colouring, lol
and some extra sketches from reading this series. I keep finding that the author will give a super vague description of the character initially then suddenly add a detail like ten chapters later that fully changes the way I imagined the character pff.
Sidra's description especially doesn't really match how I initially pictured her, and I can't quite wrap my head around what "a crop of curls" means for her and Rosemary.
but! here's some of my initial ideas regardless. particularly Blue is now totally different in my head, and I forgot that Pepper wouldn't have eyebrows or eyelashes when I first drew her.

first sprout fight drawing! let's see how many I can do before May. all original characters for these, exploring situations they might be in at the end of my planned book trilogy, when the snow is finally giving way to spring again after a too-long winter (the rest will be cosier than this, just needed to initially set the scene).
vaguely inspired by Habbart's ranchers apocalypse au for this storytelling style (won't ping since it's not really relevant but I've really been enjoying reading their series).
